I don’t know anything about that but it’s probably true that ONE guy proposed it. There seem to be some serious religious conservatives in the party.
But clearly that’s a fringe position and only a small number of people in or out of the DUP would be in favor of something so silly and oppressive.
Of course enemies of the DUP would make a big deal out of it just like democrats make a big deal when lone Republicans say something stupid.

We need be more aggressive with TV ads talking about right-wingers are heartless bastards, Theresa. And I'm thinking a radio spot with Markos Moulitsas and Michael Moore encouraging young people to GOTV will be very effective..."
