Let’s just say that CBS was NOT lying. Then what?
Well, then you have a J. Edgar Hoover situation, where Comey had been sitting on evidence of Obstruction of Justice, which, of course is illegal.
Why would it be illegal? Easy, because that meant that Comey could BLACKMAIL Trump, as Hoover was known to do on a regular basis...and perhaps he was blackmailing? Who knows, but that’s why you just cannot sit on criminal wrongdoing, if it really did exist.
So, per CBS’s own statement, they should be calling for charges to be brought against Comey. Are they? Do I need to answer that?

The first part of that is true for sure. Comey testified that he took Trump's remarks relating to the Flynn investigation as an order from Trump, period, full stop. That's how Comey took the exchange. Now, "the exchange" may be fiction, because the only people in the room were Comey and Trump. You know the advice to males, never be alone in a room with a female, because they can make up anything, and the fiction will be trouble, at least. Same holds here. Being in a one-on-one carries risks for both sides. Comey came out of that meeting with accusations.
And the second part is true too. According to Comey, Trump said he was considering ordering Comey to undertake an investigation of Trump, in order to clear Trump. Comey counseled against this, because being under investigation connotes suspicion of wrongdoing.

“I order you to drop the investigation of Flynn and make a public statement clearing my name”..... or something

They just make crap up. Especially today after Comey failed to deliver for them. Why are we surprised, doesn’t anyone remember the fake news during the primaries, faked-up polls and all?
