CNN) -- A 25-year-old federal contractor is accused of leaking classified information regarding a 2016 Russian military intelligence cyberattack to an online news outlet.

The Justice Department announced charges on Monday against Reality Leigh Winner, a contractor with Pluribus International Corporation in Georgia. She is accused of "removing classified material from a government facility and mailing it to a news outlet," according to a federal complaint.

Who is Reality Winner?

-- Winner is a federal contractor with Top Secret security clearance. She had been assigned to a US government agency facility in Georgia since February 13.

-- She is accused of leaking classified information, used as the basis for an article published Monday by The Intercept, detailing a classified National Security Agency memo. The NSA report, dated May 5, provides details of a 2016 Russian cyberattack on a US voting software supplier, though there is no evidence that any votes were affected by the hack.

-- Winner was a linguist in the US Air Force in Maryland who speaks Pashto, Farsi and Dari, her mother, Billie Winner said.

-- She was raised in Kingsville, Texas, and served in the Air Force in Columbia, Maryland. Her mother confirmed she was a federal contractor in Augusta but did not know the nature of her work, or if she had contracted for the NSA.

-- Winner is an athlete who loves animals, her mother said, through tears.

-- She also said her daughter wasn't especially political and hadn't ever praised past leakers like Edward Snowden to her.

-- "She's never ever given me any kind of indication that she was in favor of that at all," her mother said. "I don't know how to explain it."

-- Winner spent six years in the military, said Titus Nichols, her court-appointed attorney.

"She also said her daughter wasn't especially political and hadn't ever praised past leakers like Edward Snowden to her."

Then Mom obviously hasn't read her daughter's social media posts. The daughter is a very hard core extremist SJW fascist.

First of hopefully many. Too bad they can’t recall her to active duty and courts martial her rather than face a civilian court.

The more stories I read about Reality Leigh Winner, the more I am inclined to believe:
1. Her parents have failed to tell their dear little snowflake that getting overly excited about opposing a President is not a good idea.
2. She is not a ‘Reality Winner’, but instead is a ‘Selfie Loser’. Like so many snowflakes she does not seem to have any friends to travel with.

If Harvard can turn down admissions because of FB posts, then the NSA certainly should be able to......................

She’ll get little more than a slap on the wrist. The problem is that people like her don’t fear punishment because of leniency in our courts, fear of offending certain groups, and outright political reluctance to prosecute. So they quickly conclude that the risk of leaking and other similar illegal acts is low to them personally. Unfortunately, they are probably right.

Eighty years in solitary confinement at a maximum security prison. But she’ll be insane long before finishing her sentence.

Gee...doesn’t vetting for a Top Secret clearance include looking at the applicant’s social media posts?

Oh yeah, she would have gotten her clearances (military and contractor) under Obama.

So, no problem.

I guess being able to speak Pashto, Farsi, and Dari compensates for many shortcomings.

Seriously, if she is that out there, somebody dropped the ball big time; especially after Brady and Snowden.

From what I’ve seen of the MSM reports about this, she is already being hailed as a heroine.

Unfortunately, that is not often the case in this country. Most criminals have rap sheets a mile long.

If you attempted ‘poly’ a thousand folks a year...say twice each year...you’d have one-third of them on suspension until further investigation could be accomplished. Man-days lost? Probably minimum of sixty days lost on each person with the bulk of the investigations turning up nothing.

In the old days, if you’d just done a financial check once a year....you would have ratted out the bulk of all spies. Today, there are almost no spies...just leakers, where there is no financial gain involved.

This enormous belief that poly is the golden ticket and will find all the problems...it just simply leads onto accusations and enormous security investigations that rarely ever show any payback.

There are layers of incompetence and corruption, it's the government.

From what I’ve seen of the MSM reports about this, she is already being hailed as a heroine.

What I've seen is basically a dismissal of her crimes and a focus on all the non-evidence to support Russian hacking of our elections and thus Trump is not our President, Hillary should be.
