France, Italy, Germany defend Paris Accord, say cannot be renegotiated (Issue joint statement)

Italy, France and Germany said on Thursday they regretted U.S. President Donald Trump's decision to withdraw from the Paris climate accord and dismissed his suggestion that the global pact could be revised.

"We deem the momentum generated in Paris in December 2015 irreversible and we firmly believe that the Paris Agreement cannot be renegotiated, since it is a vital instrument for our planet, societies and economies," the leaders of the three countries said in a joint statement.

Italian Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron urged all their allies to speed up efforts to combat climate change and said they would do more to help developing countries adapt.

It is being weaned off the American teat that causes all the weeping and wailing. Without American funding, they can bluster all they want the Paris Accord will fall because no one will be willing to contribute to the cause. Look at NATO and every other so call “treaty” or “accord” - they sign up to get some of those Yankee dollars.

LOL. Really. President Trump left them an opening but they just slammed the door shut. Great, it’s all over then.

I do believe Obama would like to take over the UN and become monarch of the world.

They were counting on U.S. money to support them. Maybe they can get Soros to fund them now.

"No renegotiation? Well, that’s just a crying shame. Oh well."

Anything to get the USA under their thumb.

Now let’s us citizens do our part and crank up those factories! Show Europe we can make stuff again. The Chinese have factories going 24/7; let Europe lean on them instead of us.

Easy for them, since we defend them for a bargain, and they probably don’t hand over as much as the US does in this wealth transfer.

The US spends $1,000+ per household in this agreement, and gets zip, nada.

America pays and quits clean coal, so India can produce and burn dirty coal.

SHUCKS. AND it’s voluntary. So no one has to follow it anyway. It’s just a planning committee to bilk more tax dollars and redistribute to billionaires and tyrants that stand to make vast fortunes on the scam.

Having negotiated an agreement once, which the U.S. agreed to, what point is there to negotiating a new one which the U.S. could pull out of again seeking yet another deal? Trump of all people should realize this, being an expert on deals and all, so I would assume that his comments about wanting to renegotiate was just lip-service meant to placate people and not a serious suggestion that another deal could be worked.

Yeah these geniuses who are importing millions of poisonous snakes into their countries. Someday I hope the politicians responsible will wind up like Mussolini and his mistress.

With this climate agreement vacated and low energy costs, throw in some import tariffs and those industrial “jobs that were never coming back” will come back!
