The Problem With The High Road
Daily Caller ^ | 5/31/2017

Posted on 06/01/2017 2:30:10 AM PDT by Altura Ct.

After the controversy surrounding Kathy Griffin we have some commentators on the right demanding we forgive Griffin because she apologized, an apology which didn’t actually apologize to anyone, but merely that people found it offensive, so in my house growing up that’s not an acceptable apology. When does the high road become a liability for conservatives? Forgiveness in the 24 hour news cycle and internet age equals ambivalence, the story dies and America moves on as if it never happened. There are still groups suggesting that Trump has been forgiven for doing far worse, I challenge that to the fullest extent.

Conservatives have always congratulated themselves for taking the high road. The religious right has always called for forgiveness of their foes rather than the common onslaught of venom and rage that we would see from the left when they target someone. Does anyone remember when Rush Limbaugh had advertisers pulling off his show because they were being harassed by leftist groups after he made a comment about Sandra Fluke’s testimony before congress claiming that the lack of insurance to pay for contraceptive was like a death march for women? Even Sean Hannity was targeted just last week for entertaining the idea that Seth Rich might be who leaked DNC emails to Wikileaks.

The problem is that people confuse forgiveness with lack of punishment and we need to start dealing with controversies with an equal metric. I know we think the reactions from the left at any red meat they can go after against conservative voices are unfair and completely ridiculous but the only way we are ever going to prove that is to respond in kind and show them what it’s like when show line-ups change, people are kicked off tours, and celebrities are driven to the poor house for their lack of judgement. I don’t like the state of affairs any more than you do, but if we don’t respond with the same temerity as the left than they will continue to get steam rolled by their narratives because they know that no matter how offensive or outrageous they are conservatives will just shout about it on social media and then forget after you offer a luke warm apology. When you are in a combative relationship you have to view your opponent as your ideological enemy and you would never go into a physical battle against someone with a gun holding a spoon and right now some of these conservatives are handing out spoons to counter Kathy Griffin’s tank battalion.

Two thoughts on the matter:
  1. If she actually apologized, that would be one thing. She didn't. This was merely kabuki theater.
  2. Taking the high road has resulted in the GOP electing no-personality cucks and not actually accomplishing anything...we can see that now with the GOP-majority being frozen in place. Time to follow the George S. Patton philosophy a bit:
Nobody ever defended anything successfully, there is only attack and attack and attack some more.

You don’t forgive people just to set them free from a wrong. You forgive them to set yourself free from anger and hate. You also forgive others so that God can forgive you.

Matthew 6:14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:

15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.(KJV)

God is the judge of whether or not an apology is sincere, and He will mete out the punishment or the mercy as He sees fit. If we are fooled by the insincere, we have done our part and can leave the rest to God.

The left encouraged what she did.

Matthew 3:7 When John saw many Pharisees and Sadducees coming to him to be baptized, he said to them, “You snakes—who told you that you could escape from the punishment God is about to send? 8 Do those things that will show that you have turned from your sins. 9 And don’t think you can escape punishment by saying that Abraham is your ancestor. I tell you that God can take these rocks and make descendants for Abraham! 10 The ax is ready to cut down the trees at the roots; every tree that does not bear good fruit will be cut down and thrown in the fire.

My interpretation is, John told the Pharisees that the act of forgiving sins (baptism) was not the be all end all. After forgiveness they had to do good works - ‘bear good fruit’ and turn away from the sins they were forgiven for. Acts not words.

Those that don’t start doing good works or go back to the same old sins (ie, were false in asking for forgiveness and are repeat offenders) they can be shunned. “Shake the dust” from your feet. But if it’s a different sin (and there are a lot of sins), then you forgive that one and the next different one, under the same ‘good fruit’ conditions.

This is the second time Kathy has, basically, stalked a prominent Republican. The first being her rather strange obsession with the Palin family.

Stefan Molyneux dug up Griffin’s tweet blaming Sarah Palin for the Gabby Gifford shooting. “Are you happy now, Sarah?”

A real apology would have been made to President Trump and his family first. Then she would have apologized to the rest of society for being demented and offensive. Her apology seemed like nothing more than words with no real sincerity coming out of the mouth of a demon possessed person. Do we have to accept apologies from Satan speaking through others as he leads us down the road to hell? The high road to hell is paved with good intentions. I imagine any GOPers so willing to forgive and forget are probably NeverTrumpers.

She is not someone I ever watched to begin with. In fact I always get her confused with that other crack pot, Joy Behar. I don’t care what happens to her one way or the other but I have a feeling behind the scenes she’s being embraced as a heroine.

Self-defense is a high enough road that no one should be ashamed to drive on it.

The corporate Left - don’t make the mistake of thinking there is any ideology in there anymore beyond the raw and naked will to power - has forced “normals” into necessary self-defense.

So yeah, while in isolation and without context it may be immoral to pour boiling oil on someone, that very same act is quite moral if the person being burned is storming your castle.

Griffin volunteered to be an example. She needs to have her career END with a whimper and then it must be pounded into dust. It is within our power to do it. Already some of her events have been canceled. We need to keep up the pressure and spread the word every day.

I suspect there will be some sort of attack on Griffin maybe even physical, a fake attack of course and one that will change the narrative where the leftists can continue to be the victim; the outrage from the left will be loud and continuous even after it is proven to be fake.

God helps them who help themselves. I am dedicating a part of every day to destroying Griffin’s career. The left doesn’t fear God, they need to fear people like me. I have a pen and a phone and I am not scared to use it.

Oh and I am doing this for what this piece of garbage did to a fine young man. The adults can take care of themselves but doing this stunt to Barron is over the line.

What she did was an act of terrorism, pure and simple. No different than ISIS and their shock videos.

She needs to be charged and convicted, AND sentenced to prison.

Those quoting “forgiveness theology” are advised to consider Second Samuel 22:43.

This is a problem I have with parts of Christianity...turn the other cheek, forgive, love. I’m a bigger fan of the part of Christianity that sings “Onward Christian Soldiers, Marching as to war!.” Read the words again...that’s what we need...I consider that the “high road” more should better resemble the “high ground.”
