“The issue is the revolution.”

I don’t understand what you mean. A revolution, in my mind, is designed not to change things that don’t mean anything, but to change things that can alter history or existence. Tearing down historical monuments of a time well back in our history, bad as it was, will not decrease the memory and will not make our current conditions change, improving them or not. All this is a blip in time so someone can get their little unimportant cause covered on national news. And to do it part way is where it fails to mean anything.

I’ll bet there are far less than half the population of the US even knew those monuments existed. Now, I’ll wager a whole lot more know. So, outside of collect pigeon droppings for all these years, what did they mean to society? Nothing. And it means nothing if they come down. They are not the Statue of Liberty.
