Crews have started to dismantle some of the tents in a controversial outdoor jail complex in Phoenix that helped make former Sheriff Joe Arpaio a national law enforcement figure.

One of the five jail yards within "Tent City" has already been completely dismantled, and workers on Wednesday were in the process of tearing down a second yard.

Hmmm. Don't look like inmates doin' the work. Guess they can't be trusted with power tools? Let's watch the crime rate and see what it does now the Sheriff Joe is out.

I read where 322 people each day are moving to Phoenix.

90% are Democrats apparently.

I expect the crime rate to increase there now that “Tent City Jail” is no more.

Why are the dismantling crews not controversial?

“Penzone is pursuing the option of turning the complex into a detention space where inmates would work with shelter animals in a bid to teach the prisoners compassion and discourage them from committing future crimes.”

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah - kill or rape someone? Go to jail and play with puppies!

If that were true the stupidity drain from other areas might be a positive boon.

Just so long as you’re the drained and not the drainer.

Wow Arizona, do you like a stupid bunch of losers lately. Re-elect John McCain and toss out Sheriff Joe and undo the gains made against some very serious criminal enterprises in a border state. I recognize a state of losers as I live in California - I think we are in a league of our own when it comes to loserdom.

From my time living here I have come to believe that if illegals were deported and voter fraud network, if they exist, were exposed and shutdown California would be much more in play and with the jackassry being committed daily in Sacramento. A three year to eight year outlook things could start to look drastically different.

Its probably looking through the world through rose colored glasses but look at the vote totals in Kali for 2016 - there are so many illegals here I suspect the vote fraud is off the charts.

This Jerry Brown I think is actually going senile, and leading the parade of madness.

At this point I'm cheering them on as they are matching straight off a cliff. Go Jerry Go take all our dough!

Its so delicious when democrats become crime victims as a result of their pathological voting habits.

I remember when the convicts would complain about the tent city. Sheriff Joe would:"you don't like it,go get arrested somewhere else!"

I don’t believe any rational person sees that as worthy of controversy. I have several close relatives in Afghanistan and Iraq, none of whom are as comfortable or as safe as the criminals in those tent prisons. I’d like to see a nationwide program to put prisoners in similar complexes instead of in more expensive buildings.

The "Tent City" will be replaced by a new temporary lodging facility, which will provide hospitality to those "Community Members" still awaiting their official apology and release. It will be constructed entirely with new public debt, using approved Democrat Party contributing contractors, who will spare no expense.

“Yeah - kill or rape someone? Go to jail and play with puppies!”

Sure, that will work. /s

On a sort of related note, my husband was in Albany, NY for business this past week and noted that the airport was full of therapy pets to help calm down passengers. I don’t mean passengers with their own “therapy” pets, but pets hired by the airport (or someone else) to mingle with the flying public to help alleviate their stress. There were several dogs and at least one pig.

What have we been reduced to?

A pig? What a novel anti-terrorism tool. I would station one at every concourse...

The convicts preferred “The Tents” to being inside, except for June, July and August that is.
