Re: Do you Freepers have any suggestions as alternatives to my choices above?

I’m a 42 year member of USAA. They’ll be hearing from me tomorrow.

I just ran across an article in the local rag talking about https://www.compare.com/ which compares multiple car insurance companies. It’s free.

Just checked their site and they also compare home, health, mobile phones, small business and commercial insurance companies.

Also check out Erie Insurance - https://www.erieinsurance.com/ They are east coast as far as I know. I’m in VA and have been using them for 25 years for car and home. Good rates.

Finally I’ve heard good things about Travelers Insurance - https://www.travelers.com/index.aspx for home and car insurance.

Opened account at Navy Federal Credit Union yesterday (savings, checking, debit and credit cards). Also ended 37 years of auto insurance with USAA. I will end checking and credit card as soon as I redirect auto-billing on a couple of accounts and change credit card info at some online retailers. USAA’s customer service has been declining for years and this stupidity finally pushed me out. I trust they will continue to suffer financially for their political activism and subsequent lying.

My message to USAA:

As a USAA member since 1982, I’m disappointed that you would pull advertising from a true patriot who loves this country.

http://www.cnsnews.com/blog/craig-bannister/bozell-terrible-liars-usaa-claim-hannity-ad-pulled-because-it-doesnt-advertise

And you continue to sponsor those who trash this country? Like Chris Matthews?

This is not how to keep a loyal customer. I am deeply troubled.

I sent them a letter electronically in a PDF file. I could not find a proper place to send them an email, but I did find I could upload a PDF document to them. I directed it at Executive Management.

Here it, names redacted:

To: USAA, P.O. Box 659464 San Antonio, TX 78265 26 May 2017

From: Alas Babylon!, Festung BABYLON, AL

USAA Number: Redacted

Dear Sirs:

I am a SMSgt in the United States Air Force, Retired. Over the years, Sean Hannity of Fox News has gone above and beyond duty to help the military, whether they be a soldier, sailor, airman or Marine. He has done GREAT service to us.

For you to drop advertising on his show because of pressure from far Left political groups, or, even worse, if you agree with these groups, is despicable. I replied to you on Twitter via your address @USAA_Help, and you said that you do not advertise on opinion shows, This has now been proven to be a lie. I find your actions to be DEEPLY repulsive to me and my military brethren. I am PROUD to be a political conservative, and refuse to be slandered, incorrectly, I might add, by the Left. If you who are reading think that of conservatives, then we might as well say good bye now.

From Newsbusters, Brent Bozwell:
Media Research Center President Brent Bozell exposed USAA’s spokesmen as “terrible liars” for claiming they pulled their advertisements on “Hannity” because USAA doesn’t advertise on opinion shows – when, in fact, they advertise on far-left media.
In a statement released Thursday, Bozell condemned USAA’s “obnoxious and shameful” hypocrisy, especially given that Sean Hannity, like USAA, serves and supports the U.S. military:
“USAA is dishonest and their spokesmen are terrible liars. First they pander to the far-left by announcing they were pulling advertising from Sean Hannity’s TV show, and when there is an uproar against them, they state on Twitter that they don’t advertise on ‘opinion shows.’
That is dishonest. They advertised on MSNBC Hardball just last night. We have several other examples of USAA advertising on left-wing shows that would clearly violate their stated ‘policy.’ “

Please tell me, after more than a decade as your customer, why I should continue to do service with you?

I would like to see a public apology from USAA on this particular issue, if you wish to keep my business. I will wait 7-10 business days, and then make my decision whether to go elsewhere for my insurance needs.

Sincerely, Alas Babylon!

Looks like the idiots “outsourced” the decision in order to kow tow to the politically correct crowd. PC, diversity, the environment, and globalism seems to have been driving them over the last few years. They might as well move the HQ to Austin!

October 11, 2016

USAA has selected French media relations conglomerate Publicis Groupe as the San Antonio-based insurer and financial services firm’s sole outside agency providing marketing, advertising and communications support.

As part of the arrangement, Publicis has pledged that 30 percent of its new hires on the USAA account will be from “diverse communities.” That follows an embarrassing episode last year when a creative director at one of USAA’s outside advertising agencies sent a racist email that later became public.

Publicis agencies will assist USAA with creative development, marketing, advertising and media buying, content creation, social media, corporate responsibility, public relations and crisis management. Those agencies include Razorfish, Saatchi & Saatchi, Mediavest|Spark and Prodigious.

What is Publicis’ relationship to Media Matters, Clinton, Soros, etc? 45 year USAA member here. I went from proud member to ashamed member overnight. For the moment, I have suspended using my USAA Visa. Might start moving accounts if they don’t make amends.

Up in post # 3, Damper99 put in a link for Armed Forces Insurance. I’ve had their home insurance for 20 plus years. They’re great. No fuss, no muss.

I only use USAA for vehicle insurance, because ten or so years ago they had a great rate. So unless I see a retraction and apology from USAA, I’m moving my car insurance to AFI.

I’m thinking it’s because that’s how many of them achieved success and became generals and admirals in the military. Sadly, since the’70’s that is how you got promoted.

USAA should probably limit the retired officers they hire to O-6 and below!
