The Republicans redistricted Newts old district after he left to make Republican districts around it stronger that were even. They also shoved a lot of Democrats into one district to weaken their showing in other districts.

Since then Republicans have had pretty much Cart Blanch in the state House. Worked for them in the state, but it extremely weakened a district that once saw Democrats seldom challenging when Gingrich was Speaker.

My 12 year old was pleased with the result—but only because he is rather close friends with some die-hard Sens fans.

We pull for the Habs. We’ll probably be pulling for P.K. in the finals. When it comes to hockey, I’ve gone completely native (I’m origionally from Oregon, so there was;t a strong attatchment to the U.S. brand before I headed north).
