President Donald Trump on Thursday morning met with leaders of NATO and spoke out about the on-going problem of illegal intelligence leaks. Trump promised in a statement to launch an investigation led by the Justice Department into the matter and prosecute all culprits "to the fullest extent of the law."
Trump's statement was likely a response to the British government condemning U.S. intelligence for leaking lassified information about the terrorist attack in Manchester. The name of the attacker and photos of the crime scene were allegedly leaked to the press after being passed to the U.S. by British investigators.
British Prime Minister Theresa May publicly warned Trump that "intelligence that is shared between law enforcement agencies must be shared securely."
Trump's statement also condemned the public release of classified information, calling the leaks "deeply troubling" while promising to "get to the bottom of this." Trump's statement aimed to ensure that there "is no relationship we cherish more" than that between the U.S. and U.K.

Not that he needed this, but the British posture provides President Trump with cover to hunt down the leakers; it will be harder for the lamestream media to complain that it is a political witch hunt/vendetta.

I just imagine that amongst those on the WH staff who are “holdovers,” there is, at the moment. a bunch crapping their drawers. I just hope when Trump returns, he publicly fires those who are responsible so the world knows their names.
Exactly - televised proof of the damage the leakers do will greatly aid the effort to hunt the cockroaches down and apply liberal (pun intended) doses of RAID!!!
Trump should have cleaned house immediately on January 20th, fired ALL 0bama appointed people, and brought in his own security people to check all phones, computers, light fixtures, and anything else that could conceivably be bugged. I wouldn’t put it past 0bama to have had the White House completely bugged before he left.
Were the Brits trying to hide what everyone already suspected, that the bomber was a muslim?
Or were they keeping mum until they could bring in his co-conspirators?
How shameful. We should blame Obama for this betrayal of our best friend, the UK. Fire ALL the Obama holdovers in D C. They are attempting a coup against our duly elected President and must be banished. Not only U.S. security is involved but the security of our allies, who will be reluctant to share information with us now.
Cops hate the leaks. They are working on limited information, trying to develop leads, gain inertia, and have to tolerate a boss demanding briefings before facts have been established.
Then to find out, the facts that you have been passing to your boss, were in turn widely distributed, only to be leaked to the press, spoiling your opportunity for surprise and giving your next target even more time to get away from you.
The press turns the work and effort of others into their work product. They love to steal the limelight away from the hard working investigators on the scene trying to make sense to a nasty situation.
There was little need to inform the public immediately that they had gained a lead on the bomber's identity or political persuasion. Yes, it is the exception now for an event like this not to be some deranged muslim, so confirming the suspicion early isn't telling us something we don't already know.

The term “Leak” is too benign. Leak is a word used by liberals.
It needs to have a better designation, like “unauthorized dissemination of state secrets”.
Anyone trafficing in state secrets should be charged with espionage or sabotage and charged accordingly.
They need to let President Trump know who they shared it with, Sessions can go from there
