USAA Faces Customer Backlash After Canceling Ads on Troop Supporting Sean Hannity

USAA, an insurance, bank and financial services company that caters to active duty military, veterans and their families, is getting slammed by members after announcing on Twitter Wednesday night the company was withdrawing advertising on the Sean Hannity show in response to pressure from liberal activists trying to silence Hannity by cutting off his advertising base. It was not stated by USAA if they advertised on Hannity’s Fox News Channel show or his nationally syndicated radio show.

Hannity is a strong supporter of the military and veterans. He has a strong fan base among the military community.

The effort to drive Hannity off the air was promoted by Democratic Party front group Media Matters which posted a list of Hannity’s advertisers this week for liberals to complain to after Hannity pursued the unsolved 2016 murder of Democratic Party activist Seth Rich in Washington, D.C. and possible connections to Wikileaks.

USAA is going to be find that this is going to be a bad business decision. They’re likely going to lose more accounts than they are going to get new ones.

I’m just curious: Have any of these advertisers ever cancelled ads on the libs stations that push the Trump/Russia hoax night after night after night?

Usaa has very loyal customers (I am one) and they are a great company to do business with.

I will contact them about this and I hope everyone does.

Just telling them you’re dissatisfied with them will do a lot. No need to cancel yet.

If they read any of this, I just tweeted them to let them know my efforts to move from Sate Farm will not be going forward. I have carried my binder of policy information with me for weeks and for some reason, just could not pull the trigger to call. In the back of my mind, they did this with someone else recently. I guess that little voice on my shoulder was screaming at me. Glad that I won’t be carrying that binder around as I will renew my policies with State Farm.

I will disagree with your stance. They kicked their customer service to the curb and in such never contacted you to get your input before doing so. Their customer base is known and tactics like this give no concern to what effect it will have on their relations with that base that we know the grand majority would have made their opinions known if it were asked.

Knee-jerk responses to pressure from groups like Move-On will prove that we surround them and not the other way around.

The question begs, why is the DNC and all their arm twisting minions actually willing to draw a line in the sand ( that is for you Barry if you are lurking ) and do something about it with this Seth story? Why? If it is a conspiracy theory then why not let the "R's" go down that road and look like loons? Why go after Sean? Why not make him go down that road and destroy his career and become a loon like Alex Jones? Ya think they would welcome that right?

So if you can't get beyond those questions like I did, their must be something really ugly about Seth's Death, or at a minimum, a less than stellar effort to solve it by local L.E.....

I would kinda agree...I’ve been a very happy customer for three years. I will contact them and say some harsh comments, but leaving simply means you’d have to pick from a couple of mostly losers.

I get it - it’s all ok we’ll each act in our own ways.

I will first contact them to ask if it’s true if it is I will then ask why. I will refrain from any knee-jerk reaction :)

I’ll also share with them they are participating in what in part our armed forces have gone to combat.... allowing news and media to be controlled by a political party.

Depending on the final disposition of the conversation I may cancel.

FWIW usaa is a coop. They share profits with members.

You either stop doing business with them or you stop pretending your account will give you pull when you offer a “complaint”.

They still get your money. They aren’t your friend that will lose sleep because you wag a finger at them.

To be honest, I liked USAA better when they never advertised anywhere. It seems like they’ve turned from a great company that served a niche customer base into a giant conglomerate that’s just somewhat better than their competitors.

“Just telling them you’re dissatisfied with them will do a lot. “

Lol! Ok, sure.

As long as your money arrives, they could give a toss if you poo poo their decision-making.

Me too. Been a member since 1990. That may change. They were a good option for military officers years ago but they like everything else watered down their client base standards and now pretty much let anyone with a tangential affiliation with the military.

Well sadly seeing that some Freepers are of the “money talks, principles walk” mind set. Maybe I can help you out with your dilemma.

If you have USAA for Auto Insurance. Check out Wawanesa if they service in your neck of the woods and you have a good driving record. I pay $93 a month full coverage for two cars with a $300 deductible and high liability coverages if I’m ever at fault. I’d be surprised if they don’t have better rates than USAA. Homeowners is competitive as well
