Kali Wilgus and Liz LC Connelly, owners of Portland pop-up shop Kooks Burritos, just wanted to make and sell some really great burritos. So when they were on a trip to Puerto Nuevo, Mexico, they picked the brains of the local tortilla ladies and brought those recipes back to the States.
I picked the brains of every tortilla lady there in the worst broken Spanish ever, and they showed me a little of what they did, Connelly told Willamette Weekly. They told us the basic ingredients, and we saw them moving and stretching the dough similar to how pizza makers do before rolling it out with rolling pins. They wouldnt tell us too much about technique, but we were peeking into the windows of every kitchen, totally fascinated by how easy they made it look. We learned quickly it isnt quite that easy.
Whelp, apparently this interview sparked an Internet shitstorm, which ended in Kooks Burritos shutting down and the two white women who owned it scrubbing social media of the business existence.
Wilgus and Connelly were accused of cultural appropriation by the Internet mob, and even the theft of PoCs recipes.

Brilliant! So true!
Irishmen (Tom Monaghan) and Blacks (Herman Cain) should not be allowed to run pizza chains! They are not Italian, stop the cultural appropriation!!! /sarcasm ;)
It all started in the 60’s with Indian Bedspreads, Incense, Mexican Ponchos, and other hippie affectations.
And it has increased exponentially over the decades.
Like my tag line sez...
I have worked (not traveled) the world over. And it’s true!
I have too many authentic Asian places close by for that. Heck, I don’t generally go to Asian places where white folks are in the majority among the clientele, I go for the real deal. With the exception of my local neighborhood sushi place, which is run by a great Korean guy. Volunteered to be a chaplain post 9/11, went off for training for a while, then the Army decided they had enough chaplains and sent him home.
Didn’t HRC get slammed for calling herself the Mexican term for a grandma?
In this case I don’t care what the politics are of the owners. That’s irrelevant. And the Invisible Hand had nothing to do with their closure. It was a concerted effort by some outright lunatics to shut them down.
I would guess that they have a decent legal case if they can find out who started the whole attack on their business.
You guys in Atlanta ever even taste a real taco?
I’m pretty sure I read today that Taco Hell is closing all stores.

Link, please.
Rick Bayless is a total liberal douche bag.
Then he should be shut down for cultural appropriation!
He’s been at it for what, 20 years or more!
I guess places like Larry’s
Mexican Restaurant are going
to have to close their doors.
I owned a kosher deli in
Florida and I’m not Jewish.
I’m sure glad I had the
opportunity to sell before
I was forced to close....
I guess only white people can run mcdonalds franchises.

Better be Scots!
Can I have my basketball back?
Time to go old school:
Kentucky Fried Chicken, Dairy Queen, and Howard Johnsons!
We’ll share hockey with Northern Europe if we can keep skiing.
The Marxist cesspool of Portland is getting wider, deeper and more full of shit every day. One day it is going to overflow and then the shit will really hit the fan when the real “Resistance” starts by those who’ve had enough of this Stalinist stupidity.
I wonder if anyone would have “fake” complained if the two young women were black, brown, yellow or Hispanic? Of course not. The Portland Left is as anti-white a bunch of racists as you can find in America. Something to really be proud of.

We should start prank calling McDonalds corporate with our best groundskeeper willy impressions and complain that the local franchise “dinna be runin by Scots”.
A guess we must now close down all Starbucks coffee shops based on the same logic. However, there is not much logic in Portland, Oregon.
But it wasnt until the 8th century A.D. that Arabic alchemist Abu Musa Jabir ibn Hayyan designed the alembic pot still, a contraption that allowed for the effective distillation of alcohol.
No whiskey for anybody least it is distilled by an Arab.
ps
My wife is Mexican and I cook the Mexican food and am white. I must just be a bad man!
