But NOTHING they did can excuse the fact this kid killed himself. Not the authorities. The kid himself was responsible for what he did.
Sad as this story is, “The kid himself was responsible for what he did” is a bare truth.
If the kid hadn’t made the sex tape, none of this would have happened. What’s wrong with just having fond memories?
If kids aren’t capable of giving consent to sex they damn sure aren’t capable of using good judgement before pressing the REC button.
I think you are mistaken about who was responsible. No male is now considered mature in the USA until he reaches 30. That is no joke.
This youngster was too immature to evaluate anything logically and became devastated by the results of his ownbehavior. The cop was responsible because he did not take into account the immaturity of the young man, the significance of his own words, “child porn”....despicable man. Unless he has sexual problems himself, I bet he, too, had sex when he and his partner were both under age. Or was he better than that? Or did no one want to touch him?
Actually child porn is a pathetic description of teen sex. I am sure we can do better.
In the end, a lovely young man was essentially murdered.

Destroying a kid’s life because he was naturally attracted to girls his age.
Boys at age 16 or 17 can be imprisoned for false rape. Only when they are age 22 and above can they pursue legal 18 year olds.

I remember at age 17, hanging with my legal ‘fiance’ and being falsely accused by an ignorant cop.
Cops & the legal system can be quite sick, driving a kid to suicide. They lie.
