The Countess of Wessex looked solemn as she observed a minute's silence for victims of last night's Manchester Arena bombing. Sophie, 52, was at the London Stock Exchange this morning for the Market Open Ceremony where the group took part in a tribute for victims of the attack that has so far claimed 22 lives. The mother-of-two, who is Chair of the Women's Network Forum, also took part in a discussion about gender equality with Unilever's Paul Polman and businesswoman Alison Kay.

How many moments of silence are enough?
Pretty soon with all the mussie slaughtering that’s all there will be but silence; so far it’s working pretty good for foreign leaders so-called.
Another moment of silence? More dead who are also silent. We bring these attacks on ourselves by refusing to acknowledge their origins and by refusing to take common sense actions to defend ourselves. Fools and idiots hugging and embracing these snakes, they will be the first to go.
The time for "silence" is long over, the time for action and interminable resistance to Islam and jihad is at hand.
