Nothing new here - the Cutter Taney which I served on board had ASW torpeado weapons installed. On my home page you can see them on the port side deck below the radar mast.
I was on the HAMILTON and CHASE and they all had ASW tubes. Aboard BIBB too but their WWII weaponry was pulled off.
