We knew things got out of hand when they banned pork sausages in German schools last year:

This article was amended on 21 March 2016. The headline previously stated that pork has been banned in Germany. This is not correct. Some cafes and schools have stopped serving pork products, but it has not been banned.

Sensationalism got the best of them; the scare quotes around “bans” were not in the original title.

That of course does not excuse the dhimmitude of those cafés that did actually stop serving pork sausages and other pork foods.

It’s interesting how that this “do not offend” movement is all one-way.

Germany bans pork so as not to offend Muslims. But there is no concern for how sausages-lovers might be offended.

New Orleans bans Confederate monuments so as not to offend blacks. But there is no concern for how descendants of Confederates might be offended.

Colleges ban conservative speakers so as not to offend liberals. But there is no concern for how conservatives might be offended.

I could go on and on.
