At this point, I’m thinking they make just about every story up and claim Anonymous sources. They have a friend call while doing *67 on the number and bingo!.. there’s a CNN source.
I’ve been saying for 15 years at least that ‘anonymous sources = no sources.’
“They have a friend call while doing *67 on the number and bingo!.. theres a CNN source.”

It’s *69 for the source.

True story (I've told it on here before): When I was an undergraduate at the University of Hawaii, I was majoring in Journalism (this was pre-Carter era). One of my professors told a story about him and another reporter (working on a D.C. paper) getting a great story from an anonymous source - but their editor insisted they would not run a story from one, unverified, anonymous source. They tried, but couldn't find another source. So reporter A turned to reporter B and interviewed him. The newsroom was less than a mile from the White House. They then quoted a second source "close to the White House" and the editor let it run.
That is what I think of anytime they quote one anonymous source. Maybe the head editor at CNN took the same Journalism class.
By the way, after graduating I went into the Army. Then when I got out of the Army, I became a CPA. I gave up being a journalist.
