Can the average Democrat even tell the difference between a statue depicting a civil war era individual and one depicting an individual from the War of 1812 or even World War 1? I highly doubt it.

One of the more famous Mardi Gras organizations, the Zulu Aid and Pleasure Club, is for all purposes a racially-segregated group that only allows white people (celebrities, mostly) to ride in its parade *in blackface*. Strangely, this group's parade route (which is notorious for meandering past members' family homes and such) has passed through Lee Circle every year for as long as I can remember. Nobody seemed to be offended by the General's statue.
