Partisanship Works – for the Democrats

Partisanship certainly works well for the Democrats when it comes to shaping public opinion and influencing policy. It’s a discipline the Democrats have developed into an art form.

Despite all the talk about reaching “across the aisle,” the Democrats never do. They never yield; they almost never vote for a Republican nominee unless they have safe political cover, they virtually never support a Republican initiative. They hold together with amazing public unanimity when it comes to opposing Republican proposals and bills.

Republicans, on the other hand, are far weaker as a party, nowhere near as steeled and uncompromising with regards to doing battle with the opposition as the Democrats.

There are many high-profile Republicans who are famous for their malleability, perhaps in some misguided desire to appear “reasonable”: John McCain, Lindsey Graham, John Kasich, Susan Collins, Paul Ryan and others often break ranks with Republican initiatives and come out willingly and publicly on the other side.

This is why guilty Democrats need to be in prison. Show them that this is an ugly game if it’s played the way they play it.

If each party can be “the loyal opposition” we would all be better off.
The Democrats need to improve on the “loyal” part.
The Republicans need to improve on the “opposition” part.

Imagine an Amway convention where a weird guy went around saying things like, “using relationships to influence people’s buying behavior is fundamentally wrong, don’t sell things to others..!”

can you imagine how that person would be perceived?

yet that is how it’s been to be a conservative in DC.

And so after awhile certainly after several years, our guys want to join the “cool group”, so they start talking liberal.

There is an understandable seduction process but it’s totally infuriating.

Democrats can be more partisan because they all believe in two things: practical socialism and humanism. Everything they do comes out of one or both of those things.

Meanwhile, we believe in isolationism, except when we believe in interventionism, or something in between. We believe in Christianity, except when we don’t, or when things like helping the poor cuts into the bottom line. We believe in jobs for Americans, except when those jobs can be found cheaper in another country, or we can import foreigners to work cheaper.

The bottom line is that they do partisanship very well because they are monolithic to the point of being a hive-mind. Our side acts like a collection of humans who each believes in individual freedom, so we are free to want the things that matter to each of us, individually.

What's really happening is ANY REPUBLICAN WILLING TO TRASH FELLOW REPUBLICANS WILL RECEIVE FREE AND POSITIVE PRESS COVERAGE FROM ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, WASHINGTON POST, NEW YORK TIMES AND ON AND ON...

Bryanw92, have you notices there's NEVER A DEMOCRAT 'MAVERICK'? Only Republicans are called 'mavericks' by the press... people like McCain and Graham win that title - and are treated with respect by the MSM. Respect for stabbing their fellow Republicans in the back.

Why aren't there democrat 'mavericks'?

Because if a democrat broke rank the butt boys in the press would beat the fool up, spit him out and never give him positive press coverage again.

Then Soros would stick his paid trolls on the person - he would receive volumns of hate mail from fake 'constituents'... and hundreds of fake phone calls made to look like their from his district.

It’s kind of like the way a criminal organization sticks together on a story or an operation.

Why yes, I have. I covered it in my post #5. They only believe in two things, but they have to believe in both of them—and they truly do believe n both, unlike our elite Republicans who only give lip service to things like freedom, jobs, and security. If a Democrats doesn’t accept all the possibilities of those two things, they aren’t a Maverick because they still believe in 99% of it.

Also, if one of them stalls a piece of the agenda, its no big deal to them because another will pick up the banner of socialism and humanism and soldier on. They don’t seek big wins (until Obama was in office because his cultural inclination was better suited to be a low-level banner carrier than a decision maker). They only need continuous small wins.

A strong article up to a very weak concluding paragraph.

I don't mean in their own minds.

I mean as far as the press is concerned.

Any democrat who leaves the liberal plantation mind-set is punished by the New York Times and Washington Post - BY THE PRESS.

Press goons are making an exception of the guy from West Virginia because it's dawning on democrats that without 20 million new illegals being forced on the American people (new democrats) that they'll have to pretend they care about the working middle class here. And now.

So the twits are backing off on their hatred of working class and middle class Americans for a short time..

Never forget democrats hate this country and they hate the people who built the country and made it great. If they could add a hundred million third world criminals to prop their power up, they would do it. Democrats have no conscience. They are the enemy of freedom.

“There is an understandable seduction process but it’s totally infuriating.”

The republic has been undermined and subverted by Democrat scu&bags for the last fifty, if not one hundred years.

They know how to figuratively disarm and castrate any opposition and do it well.

They are one with the msm and there is a stockholm syndrome in operation as a result; any who oppose them are toast as a sense of powerlessness is cultivated.

They do it rather well.

IMHO

I agree, but that’s two-dimensional thinking.

But have you noticed that any Democrat who deviates from the hive mind on anything tends to leave it completely? Its rare, but it happens. The reason is that the socialism/humanism ideology are so tightly interwoven and if any part of it becomes impossible to follow, the whole thing falls apart in your mind.

The press understands this and they attack the person who is breaking ranks because they know that he will soon become a traitor to the hive. They work to expel him before he starts to speak truth as a member of the hive.
