Investigators into Russian meddling in the U.S. presidential elections are now also probing whether White House officials have engaged in a cover-up, according to members of Congress who were briefed Friday by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.
That avenue of investigation was added in recent weeks after assertions by former FBI Director James Comey that President Donald Trump had tried to dissuade him from pressing an investigation into the actions of Trump’s first national security adviser, retired Army Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, members of Congress said, though it was not clear whom that part of the probe might target.
Even as members of Congress were mulling over the expansion of the case into possible cover-up, and its reclassification from counterintelligence to criminal, the scandal appeared to grow.
The Washington Post reported Friday afternoon that federal investigators were looking at a senior White House official as a “significant person of interest.” The article did not identify the official, though it noted that the person was “someone close to the president.”

I've been thinking about Scooter Libby for a couple weeks now. This is the model being used on Trump.
The man went to jail, because someone else to whom he had no connection "revealed" the name of the "married-to-politician-Beltway-cocktail-circuit-bimbo-cum-CIA-agent" Valeria Plame to a journalist, in a case pursued by a lying, hyper aggressive political prosecutor named Patrick Fitzgerald - who knew the truth all along.
Right. But now it gives them many more months of the MSM talking about the “collusion” and now the “coverup”.
This reminds me of ‘all the president’s men’.. You know, the one’s who took down Nixon. Wish I could say more..
Last night on Chris Hayes MSNBC program he and lib guests admitted that there probably was no collusion, but they said that there are many other things the prosecutor can get them on:
Covering up the non-collusion
Lying about the non-collusion

More likely it is the reporter's highly tendentious spin. An extrapolation on an inference. And it's red meat for the Trump-derangement mobs, as well as clickbait.
There is no evidence that Trump did any of the many things this Trump-Russia "collusion" story has now morphed into. There is no evidence that Trump has tried to cover anything up. There is, in fact, no evidence that anything is going on other than the media outright inventing lies and publishing them as truth.
How many of us are writing our representatives and asking them to put a stop to this charade and get to the business we elected them for?

Trump defied all odds to be elected I know. But I will be surprised if he survives this. He’s got the media, the Democrats, the Republicans, his own assistant AG and possibly even his own Vice President working to take him down. It will be tough to survive this with that much determination to take him down. I have never seen anything like this.
