Long time CTH readers will note we extended well over a year of benefit-of-the-doubt to the motives of former FBI Director James Comey with regard to the severity of his politicized nature and disposition. Throughout the entire Clinton investigation we remained ambivalent to Comey’s motives.
Indeed it wasn’t until after the Pulse nightclub terrorist attack when Comey obtusely noted the FBI had been contacted (prior to the attack) about the sketchy behavior of Omar Mateen by a ‘random concerned citizen’ -and our finding that the actual ‘citizen’ was the far more substantive St Lucie county sheriff Ken Mascara– that we recognized how far Comey was willing to go to save his political face.
Yesterday, a friend of James Comey by the name of Benjamin Wittes, editor and writer for lawfare blog, now steps out and admits he was one of the primary sources for the New York Times Comey Memo article (Michael Schmidt); and in so doing outlines the severity of the political nature of the former FBI Director:

The memos are just notes to himself after conversions...what weight do they actually carry ?
Besides the felony perjury, there is a another serious felony for not reporting the interference to justice. So, if the story is true, he if facing a lot of jail time.
But my question is why does he have sensitive and certainly secret FBI case information (work product) in his possession after his dismissal? He should be arrested immediately and all his paperwork confiscated. He should not be allowed to keep FBI case material/notes after leaving the FBI.
Aparently they have the weight of video testimony, and of God Himself, since Comey was the Director of the FBI, and since Trump is a proven liar. -if you watch the media or read the papers.

Comey needs to confirm or deny the NYT story.
He either perjured himself, etc. or he may have a libel case against the NYT.
Why hasn’t Comey been questioned? Where is he?
For crying out loud, it’s not a “memo”, it’s a diary entry or a log entry. A memo is written to someone else, not to yourself.

First recognition that something was seriously wrong with Comey was the Ferguson debacle... the Pulse nightclub attack awareness was later...
Any cop with a year's experience would know from the video of Brown strong arming the convenience store clerk that Brown was NOT a 'gentle giant'... Comey knew too but Comey jumped the 'racism' gun to curry favor with white liberal elites so he screamed RACISM - screamed based on lies, based on nothing beyond political hunger for approval. It was wrong.
Comey started the War on Cops to impress white liberal elites by sending 75 FBI agents to chase racism that didn't exist in the Ferguson Police Department...
What's the motive? Why does that type of brown nosing impress White Liberal Elites?
White liberal elites excuse their unethical behavior by defining morality on one scale: an endless search for real or imagined racism against black citizens'. Fifty years ago this position had merit. Today it's nuts. Kind of like deciding to judge all people based on their praise of Eskimos... and their willingness to never notice problems within the Eskimo community.
Comey has a pattern. The pattern is butt kissing of the people who ask with full arrogance and contempt: "DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM"?
White Liberal Elites are fawning over Robert Mueller - I'm guessing it's because he's on 'their team'... Meaning he won't be fair - he'll judge according to the standards that give white liberal elites the edge over traditional Americans... and by extension... Trump. (As Trump is one of us and NOT one of them...)

Comey does NOT have to curry favor.....he’s LIEBERAL DEMOCRAT!!~! He KNOWS what to do!! He has always gotten the Clintons OFF....Obama also.
I wrote a memo yesterday after Comey called me and begged for advice on how to stay out of jail, given his lying under oath several times, obstructing justice in the Hillary-server-Huma-Seth Rich crimes spree, and many (check the memo) matters too shocking and numerous to detail here.
All they gotta do is grand me immunity and say pretty-please...I’ll give ‘em everything I got.
