Staying clear of morning shows this morning (no Fox on cable up here in the mountains east of ABQ), but can get over the air shows. CBS Sunday Morning has some good segments even though most are blatently liberal and pro-gay.

This morning’s lead segment was about an Afghan-veteran Lt. army colonel who was traveling with his family in Belgium when they got caught in the Isis airport bombing. His wife was killed and he and the four children were badly injured. The spokesperson for the segment is the 18-year old daughter who barely survived losing her leg. The father admits that while he was trained and could lead his men in combat, being Mr. Mom for four children, two of which are recoverying from serious injuries, is entirely something else. Though terrorism was the cause, it is not mentioned except at the start. A different but well done Mother’s Day segment.

Getting back to Trump, Drudge has links to the continuing White House leaks on turmoil in the Trump presidency. All attempt to portray Trump as overbearing and vindictive with his staff trying to stay on message when it may change even as they are speaking with the press, and them taking his criticism and blame for his mistakes. That, more than all the Destroy Trump Media stories about Comey, the Russians, health care, Congress, etc. bother me and the leaks from the White House absolutely must stop. They contribute to the narrative that he is unhinged and unfocused, and totally unsuitable for the job. Job one, IMO, is preventing these as they more than anything else have the possibility of destroying his authority and his presidency.

Looks like we are back to the source of all these supposed Russian leaks or dirty tricks. It’s the obama regime just as suspected.

I just found this on him: he’s the one who introduced the intrusive cybersecurity act in 2011 forcing companies to share their data with the government. That is not someone we want running the FBI!

In November 30, 2011 Congressman Rogers introduced the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act (CISPA).[10] “The bill would allow the government to share all of its classified cyber-security knowledge with private companies, forming knowledge-sharing agreements that would hopefully keep China (and other countries and hackers) out of American computer networks. The catch is that the information shared is a two-lane street—companies would also be allowed to share private data with the federal government, provided there is a reasonable ‘cyber threat.’”[11] “In the current version, most personal information would be stripped from data shared with the government, and the bill no longer defines intellectual property theft as something relating to national security “We think we’re making huge progress with the privacy groups, so they understand what we’re trying to accomplish, which isn’t anything nefarious,” Rogers said”[12]

I found the McCabe appointment very disturbing. Grassley laid it all out and Comey has not responded to his questions.

What I think is lost in all of this discussion about Comey, Hillary's emails, and the whole Russian business is that it was virtually certain that Hillary would be the next President of the United States. When you look at Comey's actions in that context, you can understand why he handled the email investigation the way he did. He gave Hillary a pass by rigging the investigative process, i.e., no grand jury, handing out immunities to Hillary's staff and others, taking it upon himself to make the decision as to prosecute or not, and inventing the need for intent to prosecute.

Comey's handling of the Russian connection was also suspect. The FBI never got a hold of the DNC or Podesta computers to ascertain for certain that it was the Russians who hacked them. The FBI's dealings with Steele, the former Brit intel agent, to acquire the dossier on Trump, which was commissioned by Dem operations research, and to continue to make payments to Steele raise lots of questions. It was the basis of the FISA warrant. Comey's failure to pursue the unmasking of Flynn and others may be because it would implicate him as well. All of this is under investigation now by the DOJ IG.

I could go on and on about Comey and his running of the FBI. Trump was wise to fire him.

Great post Dave. The game goes on trying to impeach our President through lies and innuendo, they get more lame weekly.
Some story about the Mr.Mom. We think terrorism is someone else’s problem but it's not the case at all.

Yeah, and I think that "I" means; too ashamed to call themselves a RAT, but can't quite bear the thought of being seen as a Republican.

The RATs have done a good job here of demonizing Republicans.

Trump fired Comedy in a professional and proper manner.

I read, and have no reason not to believe, that AG Sessions and Trump’s personal longtime security guy went and cleaned out Comedy’s office, while Comedy was out on the left coast, sound asleep.
That is what you do when you terminate a senior level or executive type!

Re-reading Trump’s tweet:
James Comey better hope that there are no “tapes” of our conversations before he starts leaking to the press!

Just like Trump referencing 0bama tapping Trump Tower, has Trump signaled he and Sessions have all of Comedy’s tapes (and files, and hard-drives, and laptops, and contraband, whatever else Comedy kept locked up in his office or nearby storage)?????

I see Drudge is running with a Politico story about the rumors of Trump cleaning house. They include names like Bannon, Ross, and Sessions. It is a crock and indicative of who the left would like to get rid of.

If Trump were ever to remove Sessions, he would lose me. Sessions is by far his best appointment.

Correct, no confirmation from McConnell.

Is this a feasible strategy? Or, more FAKE news.

FASCINATING MOVE — JOSH HOLMES, a longtime adviser to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell who now runs Cavalry LLC, said on “Fox News Sunday” that McConnell thinks Merrick Garland for FBI director is a “fantastic idea.” Of course, Garland holds a prize judgeship — the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia — and Republicans would love to have the opportunity to fill it.

Yeah, never mind the Fake-news "Russia hacked the election" crap.

Let's get onto the thorough, in-depth, eye-opening investigation of how the RATs have historically and methodically been stealing elections for decades, and how despite their massive efforts in the latest one....they lost anyway.

(the Russians hacked the election my @$$!)

FAKE News would be my guess. Garland is not being interviewed. This is a trial balloon by the #NeverTrumpers and the Dems who would no doubt love to have Garland as FBI Director. Nota bene: The Dems never miss when it comes to nominating someone who will toe the party line whether it is SCOTUS, lower courts, cabinet appointments etc. I have no doubt that Garland fits that mold.
