Miracle? State House passed a bill saying liberties dont come from governments, but from Almighty God May 10, 2017 | Scott Morefield | Print Article
From whence do our liberties derive? Are they from the whims of man, of whoever has the power to grant or deny them at any given moment in history, or are they from an almighty, unchangeable force?
Its an important philosophical question, because if the answer is the latter, any attempts to deny humans their God-given liberties are by definition anti-God and worthy of opposition by decent-minded people.

But without reading the next paragraph, can anyone :
1) Guess WHAT STATE(s) IT WILL NOT BE ( LIST THEM ).
2) What state it is? ( more difficult ).
To answer my own question ....
Without reading the article ( just the title ), here are the states that I have ELIMINATED from consideration:
New York
California
Connecticut
Illinois
New Jersey
Vermont
Maine
Massachusetts
Maryland ( Forget DC )
Hawaii
I am going to guess ( before reading the article ) that it is one of the Southern States.
PING
I’m going to guess Montana. Now I’ll read the article.
Utah?

On Tuesday, the Tennessee legislature lent their voice to the concept of liberty for all under God by passing HJR037 by an overwhelming 69-17 vote. The bill amends the Tennessee Constitution with the following simple but impactful statement:
We recognize that our Liberties do not come from governments, but from Almighty God.
Representative Micah Van Huss (R-Gray), who sponsored the bill in the House, called it an important step in reaffirming a founding principle of our nation and expressly stating this principle in the Tennessee Constitution.
And yet there were seventeen who voted against. Who might those be?
I don’t know as I’m an Arizonian. I know the Tennisee Boys know. I hope they soon make the seventeen unemoloyed.
Read the article. This mindset is why we chose to move to this state.
Thanks for the post. Land sakes, when in recent or distant memory have we ever heard this language even spoken in the courts?
Where’s Washington, Minnesota, Oregon? ;)
Massachusetts (I live here, the Puritans would cry if they came back)
New York
New Hampshire
Rhode Island
Cali
Washington State
Oregon
Hawaii
Delaware
Illinois
Montana
Wyoming
I would guess that it might be;
Arkansas, Utah, Alabama or Tennessee.
I forgot to add Vermont and New Jersey to my “definitely not” list.
It is Tennessee! What’s with the games, just name the state?!
RE: Whats with the games, just name the state?!
What’s wrong with playing the game of guess who?
That is not why I moved to Tennessee, but it sure makes me feel better about my decision.
