More people must be moving in here in California than moving out. Everywhere you turn there are new housing developments being built....and the prices are astronomical.

Because those places are filling up with illegal aliens.
I think you need to understand that California isn’t monolithic as regards jobs. We live in the SF Bay Area and the jobs market here is booming! My guess is that Los Angeles (aka Mexico City del Norte) is where the “white flight” is taking place. Our daughter works for one of the largest commercial building contractors in San Francisco, and they have so much work, that they are turning projects away. It’s time we severed California at the mountain range that separates the LA Basin from the rest of the State. I can’ wait to see the illegals storming the movie moguls in Beverly Hills, and killing all of them. That would be a fitting end for the trouble they’ve fomented in this country.
Yes, that is why you see some southern states turning blue or purple (NC, VA, GA, TX) Democrat voters are leaving their hellish blue states for greener pastures due to high tsxes, jobs, etc. But in their new states vote for the same Democrats that ruined their former states.

Still they are bringing their lib politics that created that people's republic here. Phoenix and Tucson have gone over to the dark side.
Delaware is steadily losing any chance of regaining political sanity because of the large influx of people from New Jersey and New York. They flee from those tax hells and come down here to elect people who take the same tax and spend path that crushed their former states.
Californians move to Nevada. It’s now blue. Purple is out of the question. We need them as much as Florida needs New Yorkers.
Why do California and New York keep their electoral votes with such exodus? Lousy leftist states.
This is the reinforcement for the idea that liberalism/progressivism is a mental disorder. They can’t rationalize the fact that THEIR ideology is the cause of the failures in the states they are leaving. Liberals are political locusts, they descend in a swarm to eat up all the prospering fields, turn the fields fallow, then move on.
Because electoral count is based on census data which is taken only once every 10 years. So you can literally go through several election cycles with the same electoral count even though a high volume of the population has left.
It has been happening for centuries.The city people move to the country for cheap land,lower taxes, and less crime. Then immediately show up at county council meeting and newspaper editorials, demanding all those city services such as municipal water and sewerage,street lights,garbage pickup, more police, wider roads, nearby shopping,etc. It all costs money which soon means high taxes.They demand what they moved away from be recreated in their new area.
