James Comey’s Testimony on Huma Abedin Forwarding Emails Was Inaccurate

Huma Abedin — Weiner’s wife and a top Clinton deputy — had made “a regular practice” of forwarding “hundreds and thousands” of Clinton messages to her husband, “some of which contain classified information.” Comey testified that Abedin had done this so that the disgraced former congressman could print them out for her boss. (Weiner’s laptop was seized after he came under criminal investigation for sex crimes, following a media report about his online relationship with a teenager.)

The problem: Much of what Comey said about this was inaccurate. Now the FBI is trying to figure out what to do about it.

FBI officials have privately acknowledged that Comey misstated what Abedin did and what the FBI investigators found. On Monday, the FBI was said to be preparing to correct the record by sending a letter to Congress later this week. But that plan now appears on hold, with the bureau undecided about what to do.

My fear is that they used a system (Blackberry servers or some automatic backup software) that automatically did this. To prove someone committed a crime you have to prove THEY did it, not merely that it happened. I’m wondering if Huma will end up getting of on a technicality, so to speak, but you’d think that if so they would have trotted this explanation out long ago.

These documents were on Clinton’s private server and, apparently, State Department servers and printers did not have access to them.

They are not building a case. They are flashing some scenes from Comey. Then they will let him off the same way he let Hillary off. Parsing words. No intent. All BS. Trump needs to move on this quickly. So does Sessions. Both could avoid many future headaches by going after Hillary, Comey, Huma, etc... now. Why give them time to regroup. Congress has no stomach for pursuing this endeavor.

Lots of wishful thinking on Mika’s part. She's still angry that Trump correctly called her neurotic and tweeted about her long time on going affair with Joe.

Although smart phones such as a Blackberry are small computers and can be used to send and receive emails, I highly, highly doubt one would be used as a storage device to back up emails. Smart phones don’t have that kind of storage capacity. Most email applications have a means to back up to large capacity storage such as a hard drive in a laptop or desktop computer, or a server, or what is known these days as the cloud (Internet storage). I think Comey is either incredibly stupid or incredibly duplicitous, maybe a bit of both.

I’m a little confused. Help me out, someone. The federal government spends trillions and the state department does not have any printers. Employees thereof have to print docs at home?

I'm going to guess that if a classified document is printed on an official government printer authorized for processing classified info, it gets logged, and a paper trail created for where that paper went. Hillary did not want a paper trail. Hillary did not want to be officially accountable for physical classified docs.

I'm going to guess that the current preference is to download documents onto a secure tablet which is never allowed to leave the secure area and must be locked up when not in use, rather than deal with paper.

She didn’t forward them. They were synced with blackberry’s and a blackberry server. And I would bet that there are other people’s blackberry’s that were backed up to that server. Just sayin.

Your fear is real. She’ll skate. They’ll all skate. There is no Weiner Statute though there should be.

She was’t supposed to have those ems printed. It was supposed to remain in its original email form. Her part of State doesn’t have a bunch of printers available.

Hillary just doesn’t *like* reading things on her computer so she had Huma printing them.

Again, her very cavalier attitude about classified info.

I’ve owned several blackberries. They don’t backup to a server. You have to download a utility. The backups are done to your computer. The utility works just like iphones and iTunes.

You can read emails that you backup from the computer.

The classified emails shouldn’t have been on a blackberry.

Backing up emails to an unauthorized source is also a no-no.

+1

I just saw a thread where Linda Graham wants to investigate Trump and his tax records. But does anyone think the Uni-Party would demand investigations into the most sordid crimes, coverups and scandals ever to beset the United States?

(yawn)

I’m a die hard Trump supporter but I’m really troubled by why, for what reason(s) does Trump not fire Comey?

Well if she plugged her blackberry in to a non-authorized device—then she did it.
