Actually he used the desk for a stool..he didn't like working in the oval office so used a student type desk in a room off the oval office.....probably because a smaller desk made it look more like he was working...I think there's a photo of that desk somewhere..I'll see if I can find it....My personal opinion is the Oval Office intimidated him....after all the job was too big for the man as we know...
