"I would rather fly in a Chinese plane than one built by Boeing or Airbus union slugs. Say what you want about the Chinese, but they have kept wages in check worldwide, which is good for job creation."

You believe Chinese Quality Control is superior to Quality Control in the U.S.?

I’ll be looking for a live feed. I was way too young to see the Hindenberg, and the Challenger was shocking because it was a surprise.

Good luck going to China. One of the things you need to know is that air traffic control creates “no fly” zones and often without advance notice. Basically they create these zones because of a military exercise or some big parade.

Its common for China travelers to be delayed because of this or just general weather problems. You may get lucky and miss all the flight delay fun. :)

It's far too late to "stop" China. They have more smart young people than we have people. We have to tend to our own house first by eliminating the vast number of political barriers to domestic, high-quality production that our own, home-grown Marxists have put into place.

Our biggest enemy is not Xi Jinping, it is Chuck Schumer.

As a direct witness, I will state that the Chinese Nanchang CJ -6 is a very fine airplane. This is a 1960s, much revised and improved, version of the Yakovlev model18 trainer. It is rugged, well made and delightful to fly. All owners that I know are very proud of their CJ -6s.
This is the only Chi-com A/C I can vouch for.

Nope.

We need to bring back American production. Our trade deficit is MASSIVE.

Repatriate production.

Stop buying everything from China.

I don’t think a lack of loyalty to UNIONS makes one unpatriotic. On the contrary. Unions are the ones whose ridiculous demands (backed by MOB ACTION) caused the outsourcing to China. I don’t begrudge the frugal Chinese workers for taking advantage of the opportunity presented by the greed of union labor here!

I’d gladly fly on an American-made non-union airplane. But use my dollars to encourage the ridiculous demands of corrupt union bosses and their thugs? Not if I have a choice!

It was the communist unions, encouraged by FDR that made it necessary for capitalists to seek out foreign labor. The minimum wage and the National Labor Relations Act pushed up wages to intolerable levels. That opened the door for Japan and later for China. Capitalism will always chase after cheap labor. Our workers got greedy and were punished for it by the global labor market.

Ok so how much of today's manufacturing workforce is unionized?

  1. 30%
  2. 20%
  3. 10%
  4. 5%

Because of globalist traitors like you if given the chance would destroy Americas wealth we need a tariff of at least 20% to keep the Globalists in check. Let's all do our capitalism INSIDE the USA OK? Otherwise we will had to hunt down all the globalist and "deal" with them.

What you Free Traitors™ have wrong is there is no Constitutional protection for globalist tariff free trade. Actually if you ever read the US Constitution you would know the opposite is true.

Like your misguided Keynesian bothers you Smithian's are killing us.

You are really missing the point. I don’t have a problem with economic nationalism. But we cannot tell business that it must pay certain wages, must provide certain benefits, must comply with regulations and ON TOP OF THAT, they can’t seek a way to get around all that by using labor from more business-friendly places.

Globalism is bad. But it would be worse to make producers the SLAVES to Deep State bureaucrats and union bosses. If we want to end free trade, we need to first apply freedom at home. Otherwise, where is the incentive to take risks?

Because we stupidly don't do that doesn't mean we couldn't. Our government has been bought off by the globalist corporations to allow this insane global labor arbitrage.

If you could ask George Washington that question regarding not being able to stop labor shopping how would he answer?

Just because I choose to exchange posts with you don't think we are now friends. I consider you and your ilk anti American economic terrorists.

The 727 has a pretty decent safety record, better than the first two generations of 737s, better than the 747, and of course better than the DC-9 and MD-11.

You are still missing the point. The main reason the evil labor movement has been gutted is that we have liberated job creators to go elsewhere rather than give in to communist demands.

I would be 100% happy to close off labor shopping now. But ONLY if we could also end the ridiculous regulations and “economic rights” that make globalism necessary. If we closed down globalism without doing that, the communists would have all the leverage they needed to completely rape corporate America. It would be the end of capitalism.

We both agree that globalism is not a great thing. But it’s better than giving in to demands for higher wages and more benefits until capitalism is bled dry by the greedy communist unions.

As things stand now, unions are almost gone in the private sector. How was that achieved? It was achieved because, for the past 40 years, corporations no longer have to give in or go out of business. They have the option to say “screw you” and move to China. That changed the game.
