John Kelly slams Democrats, media for celebrating lack of border wall funding

Homeland Security John Kelly slammed Democrats and the media for "rejoicing" in the fact that money for President Trump's wall along the border with Mexico isn't in the omnibus spending bill.

Kelly said the spending bill, which if passed before Friday will fund the government until the end of September, represents the biggest investment in border security in a decade. However, Kelly's ire was piqued by Democrats, though he didn't mention the opposition party by name, who celebrated that funding for the wall was not a part of that investment.

"Frankly, I am shocked at the behavior of some individuals in public service or public office … they're rejoicing in that the wall will be slower to be built and our southwest border will be less secure than it could be," Kelly said.

Kelly also defended the agents of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, which has been criticized for some deportations and new policies in recent months.

"There are many who owe them an apology … and frankly many in the media, for how they disrespect them, disrespect them for what they do and how they serve us every day," he said.

1) OK, so, there still is no funding for the wall, but we can be at least somewhat relieved other border enforcement funds are in there

2) School me on the Parliamentary process here. Technically a spending bill CAN be passed with 51 votes. It just means it can be filibustered, correct? And the longest filibuster in US history was 24 hours. So let them shoot their mouths off, then pass it?

“Build the 2 border walls solidly from El Paso to the Pacific Ocean.” We will have a road in between both fences for the Border Patrol to travel by car or arrest illegal aliens & stop the flow of drugs from El Paso to the Pacific Ocean

The Texas border wall would be built similarly from El Paso to Brownsville and we already have a road on our side of the border and that is the levee road. Where we do not have a levee road next to the Rio Grande we will build one.

We Texans are sick and tired of the Illegal Alien Invasion. Our good Guv’nor of Texas will put in place some very good legislation that will be the rule of law in our state concerning these sanctuary cities and its so called rat leaders.

Our side needs to start playing hard ball with the Rat party and we have had it even with our own Pubbie Speaker Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell. They will be replaced pretty soon if they do not come around.

We can build these walls for less than 10 Billion dollars. Our good senator Cruz suggested we build the walls with Chapa Guzman illegal gains in drug traffic. We are all in favor of this idea.

We are in favor of President Trump closing down the government in September if he does not see any progress whatsoever in cutting back the cost of government, Illegal Immigration and stopping the flow of drugs coming in from Mexico. Enough is Enough!!!

I’ll go out on a limb here and predict that Schumer and Co. will later regret their unseemly glee. This has PO’d Trump and certain members of Congress who will not easily forget. They negotiated win-win and the Dems are playing it like they rolled Trump.
