1,665 Pages: GOP Spending Bill Longer Than Obama’s Stimulus

(CNSNews.com) - The new federal spending bill proposed in the Republican-controlled Congress to fund the government through the end of September--which is now posted on the House Rules Committee website--is 1,665 pages long and includes an average of approximately 210 words per page.

That makes this bill approximately 350,000 words long—or about twice as long as the stimulus law (the “American Recovery and Reinvestment Act”) that President Barack Obama signed less than a month after his inauguration in 2009.

As CNSNews.com reported in 2009, the House Appropriations Committee, in the then-Democrat-controlled Congress, released Obama’s stimulus bill in two PDFs less than 24 hours before the House was going to vote on it. One PDF was 575 pages long and the other was 496 pages long, making the entire stimulus when published in that form 1,071 pages.

Gee,isn’t that special. From the sound of it, Ryan could have just replaced the cover of Obama’s plan and added a few pages of his own at the end. Please tell us the names of the members of the Budget Com. They definitely need to be primaried next year.

i need more info. how many republicans voted against it?

what would be lost by a presidential veto?

what would be better, a formal signed veto or a pocket veto?

Be a shame if something out of Debt of Honor were to happen to the Uniparty.

I work for a State DOT (in construction) and Obama’s excuse for failure was....”well, maybe they weren’t as shovel ready as we thought”. As a means to suggest the benefit was somehow lingering in the distant future.

The was of coarse unchallenged by the media, “yup, not shovel ready”.

Truth is, every State DOT pulled every job off the shelf and put it on the street.

Drive by a highway construction project and if they are notable for anything they are notible for anything it’s the lack of workers actually needed.

But, they had to appease the Laborer’s International who are being replaced in every capacity by machines/equipment. The contractor doesn’t have to pay unemployment insurance on idol equipment.

Considering that there’s likely the Sacramento to West Sacramento trolley in the bill (and probably some more cash for Moonbeam’s choo choo), I’m thinking this is porkzilla to the highest degree. Never accept your adversary’s first offer. See what he really wants before closing the deal.

President is not “tanking.” President is dealing with a c&*p sandwich the best he can in the short term to set up several acts to follow.

First, this is not a budget. This is about keeping the government funded so other actions can follow. There hasn’t been a budget since 2008. Does that sound like a joke? Darn right it is.

And President Trump can do nothing about it. He has to get the wheels back on the vehicle before he can drive. This whole threat of a shutdown was a setup. How do you think the Lamestream Media would cover one of those?

Do you think they don’t attack President Trump enough for anything and everything already? If he let the shutdown take place they’d scream to the heavens, “See, we told ya. He’s an incompetent boob. WE were right!”

Tax reform and another effort at overhauling Obamacare is on tap. You can’t deal with those without putting the operations of government aside. This does that for a short time to September. That’s it.

If people would realize these are all moving parts. No individual part can win without looking at the whole chessboard. Reality is, the Dems will do what obstruction they can do in the Senate, using those rules and have.

Obstruction continues there on a slew of appointments. President Trump doesn’t even have a fully functioning Executive Branch. They won’t let him.

So buckle up there kiddos; the fun isn’t even started.

Rush said the liquor is flowing tonight and the Rinos and Democrats and K street are patting each other on the back and hugging each other.Trump has just been knocked out and will not get up. It is over. If nobody gives a crap— that’s fine. We are so stupid as a nation it is unreal.

Giving up after 100 days? They don’t call it the Surrender Party for nothing.

I saw a headline that pro-life Pence was supporting it. Trump can’t deride Schumer is a crappy leader and then give him everything he wants. The Democrats are gloating now, and they still hate Trump just as much.

DC, _completely_ off the rails. The pretense that GOP is really different than DNC is evaporating, before our staring eyes. Liars and cowards, nearly all.
