Top Capitol Hill negotiators reached a hard-won agreement on a huge $1 trillion-plus spending bill that would fund the day-to-day operations of virtually every federal agency through September, aides said tonight.
Details of the agreement were expected to be made public tonight, said aides to lawmakers involved in weeks of negotiations. The House and Senate had until midnight Friday to pass a measure to avert a government shutdown.
The catchall spending bill would be the first major piece of bipartisan legislation to advance during President Donald Trumps short tenure in the White House. It denies Trump a win on his oft-promised wall along the U.S.-Mexico border, but gives him a $15 billion down payment on his request to strengthen the military.

Whatever. Can we get back to governing with a budget please? These constant CRs are bogus.
the deal contains $1.5 billion for enhanced border security, though it does not include money for the physical border wall along the U.S.-Mexican border that Trump had pushed for. The Associated Press said it does include funds for other border security accounts, such as detention beds for people entering the country illegally and will give the Pentagon $15 billion in new money for readiness.
Eh, not much but it’s last year’s budget- for this year. Compare it to what it would have been to be signed by Obama.
The House and the Senate are controlled by Republicans. Why does anyone need or care what Democrats think?
Oh. That's right. Because there are Republican traitors, so we end up having to negotiate with the Evil party.
So no Wall.
To Hell with the Republican party for this.
Let’s see:
the little people elected Trump to:
.1. get rid of ObamaCare....the Republicans did not back him on that.
.2. border wall...the Republicans did not back him on that.
.3. tax cut...the Republicans did not back him on that.
Ever heard of the old farmer’s saying:
“As useless as teats on a boar hog”?
And the RNC still calls me for money.....
$295 for Puerto Rico
Medicaid “burden”
$295 million
What do the Dems have to do with it?
Is a 60 Vote threshold required in the Senate?
No border wall money but still money for planned parenthood.
The RATs are still running the show
So the Republicans gave it to the Democrats again...And they’ll do it again in September...
And once again, the Democrats run the government whether they have the majority or not.
That’s because you contributed in the past.
Schumer vetoed the wall.
..”This totally sucks”...
No it doesn’t at all..... Trump didn’t cave at all....they’ve promised to deal with the wall separately ....so OK..Trumps giving them the line and now we’ll see if they hang themselves and work with the Pres. or not.
This is a defining moment. Trump didn’t want to shut the Gov.. down over the wall.....especially in light of the N.Korea tensions everybody has great concerns about now.....and the Tax plan coming down in a few months.....
He’s “dealing” now dragone...give him room to do that. HE would not have dropped the wall from the budget if he didn’t also know he could get it built another way....which we know is more than possible.
People still don’t see how Trump plays his hands.....a good game of poker takes longer than many here are giving Trump to turn a nation!!!
I don’t get people here...what do you mean no wall.......for crying out loud did he not say he was going to get Mexico pay for the wall??????
You guys just STILL cannot see how Trump plays his hand ....Trump wants to win this BIG not small handed...let him play his hand for crying out loud!
BTW..The wall is already going up....
Hope the President vetoes the proposed bill.
