How the heck did this dinner evolve, into a situation in which the president, if Republican, is supposed to be there and be the butt of the joke???
If they want to have a self absorbed dinner, go for it. Why so much talk of how Trump decided not to attend???

I read that during the Obama administration the White House suggested that speakers at the press dinner could make fun of Obama’s ears. That was, apparently, the limit. Then, the article quoted several “jokes” mentioning his jug ears. I think Obama’s skin was the thinnest of any president to date. He makes Trump look like he has elephant skin.
