This was an aggressive provocation on the part of Kim at a very delicate time. We can be certain that China has made overtures to Kim, so this launch was a message to China as much as it was a message to the U.S. and our allies.
Kim was saying FU to everyone.
Expect China to take some serious action in the next 2 weeks. Their reputation/honor/face is now on the line, thanks to Trump
If China does not take action ASAP, the manure is going to hit the fan.
When Tillerson said today that we don't want regime change, I read that as exactly what we we want.
We don't care if North Korea becomes part of China, or South Korea, or some combination thereof. But it will be stabilized for the sake of the entire region, including China and Russia.
Kim just signed his death certificate.
Before North Korea can become safe for the world, his military will have to be disbanded.
Kim is a tyrant, but his military is an accessory to his crimes. The military is why Kim was able to make a successful transition into control after his father died.
I know NK's capabilities aren't tops, but 2 "failed" launches shortly after take-off within a week or so is a bit suspicious.

Just heard via radio it was a scud capable of reaching our fleet.
That is not one of those things that is a maybe, maybe not sort of thing. You don't miss a nuclear blast.
For some reason I am pretty comfortable that this situation is under better control that it first appears. Sounds like a the U.S. and China are on the same page.

In my opinion it is to launch an attack to take out the lil bastard from power and then offer up agreement through UN that South Korea manage rebuild of North Korea to bring it into the 21st century. Hopefully this would lead to the removal once and for all of the DMZ
