Paul Ryan Under Fire as Health Care Is Delayed Again
Breitbart ^ | April 28,2017 | Ian Mason

Speaker of the House Paul Ryan’s (R-WI) leadership was called into question by new voices Thursday night as hopes expire of passing a bill to repeal and replace Obamacare before President Donald Trump’s first 100 days end on Saturday.

At a meeting on the Hill late Thursday night, the speaker and his House Republican leadership team decided to further delay the vote. With what appeared to be the acquiescence of conservatives in the Freedom Caucus and think-tanks like Club for Growth and FreedomWorks, who took much of the blame for the failure of the first attempt to pass the American Health Care Act (AHCA) in March, hopes were buoyed that passage was imminent.

Instead, according to Politico, House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) told reporters as he left the meeting, “We are not voting on health care tomorrow. We’re still educating members.”

The reality here is that the Democrats still hold an effective majority in the House of Representatives.

I don't think it's that simple.

The plain fact is that once the ACA passed and killed medical underwriting the game was pretty much over.

The large majority of Americans, regardless of party, don't want to go back to the days of people being denied coverage based on pre-existing conditions.

I can't really blame the Republicans for respecting the wishes of their constituants, especially when DJT himself has been so vocal about retaining these protections.

So you are suggesting that Democrats-as-Republicans are responsible for Ryan as speaker, effectively making him a stooge? Otherwise, true Republicans might have voted for someone more aligned with the Republican agenda?

That would still be a reason to blame him, even if only for not recognizing being used and stepping aside.

Ryan does not want the President’s agenda to move forward.

Even though the HFC has this week agreed to these latest TrumpCare conditions - they will still get the blame for this non-vote.

Ridiculous.

It's the GOPe "moderates" (RINO's) who deserve all the blame at this point, apparently for opposing a bill that's "too extreme" or "not socialist enough".

The House Freedom Caucus is on board, and because of that, I'm on board too, so now the blame can be placed precisely where it belongs: on "liberal" Republicans who were perfectly happy to vote for full repeal a dozen times over while Obama was in office.

I hope every one of them is targeted for replacement by President Trump. Maybe in 2018, we can preserve Republican control of the House, while increasing the contingent of members who are willing to enact President Trump's agenda.

The GOP is playing with fire here. It's as if they want to return to being in the minority.

And Paul Ryan simply cannot lead. The House needs a new Speaker...

The truth is there are more Democrats in R jerseys than there are conservatives.
Ryan is one of them, that’s why they made him Speaker.

"In all seriousness, is there anything Ryan has ever done to warrant taking him seriously?"

He grew a beard that one time. It gave him a penumbra of gravitas.

Boehner stepped down because he was in an untenable position. Nobody else wanted the job. Ryan took it because his aspirations for higher office went down in flames in 2012.

Exactly. So the Republicans have turned into Democrats and continue to feed the delusions that all these people have about making someone else pay their medical bills.

Not ridiculous.

I can point you to (today) threads with Freepers still ignorant of the facts that are cussing and name calling the HFC for their refusal to support TrumpCare.

Now we all agree these are ignorant people, but the damage has been done. Trump stood opposed to conservatives for weeks with regards to TrumpCare and many kneejerk FReepers disengaged their brains and blasted the HFC then and still do today.

“Isn’t it amazing that, almost immediately after Ryan became the Speaker, Obama had no trouble whatsoever getting legislation through the House...?”

Paul Ryan is George Soros’ highest paid Republican employee.

Ace McCain, Jeb, Rubio, Kasich and Linda are on the payroll as well.

I don’t believe peop,e should be denied healthcare however if they have pre exsisting conditions they should have to pay more!!! There are WAY TO MANY people today that are severely over weight and diabetic because of it WHY should WE have to pay higher premiums because they can’t control what they eat!!! There should be high risk pools and they should pay more!!!

So the Republicans have turned into Democrats and continue to feed the delusions that all these people have about making someone else pay their medical bills.

Yep. I don't think we'll ever get to a place where medical insurance is really insurance. The dysfunctional system of third-party payment is too deeply embedded.

It doesn't help to have our politicians promise total choice, plummeting costs, rising quality, and care on demand for everyone.

Aren’t we glad that ‘rat’ Romney and ‘rat’ Ryan didn’t make that ticket...’rat’ Ryan could have been President and by the way he’s handling the Speakership of the House, our Country would have been as worse off than if Hillary had been President...

We missed some bullets to get to President Trump...and I for one is very relieved...
