The failure of Congress to fix ObamaCare (let alone repeal it) might actually work in President Trump's favor this year. I can easily envision a scenario where the 2018 renewal period in late 2017 becomes such a disaster that the Trump administration starts issuing blanket waivers for almost any medical insurance plan that is offered anywhere in the U.S. -- regardless of whether the plan even meets any ObamaCare requirements at all.

As an astute Freeper pointed out in the last couple of days ...

When the U.S. government orders its citizens to purchase something that: (1) few companies even want to sell, and (2) few people can afford to buy -- then there's no reason to even maintain the silly fiction that it makes any sense at all.

The Republican Party will not repeal obamacare. Not now, not ever. They will have one excuse after the other.

Letting it die on it’s own could work out if the administration is ready to implement a work-around that doesn’t result in chaos.
