Midazolam, a medication approved for sedating infants, has a “risk of severe pain”, Sotomayor wailed. The “wise Latina” failed to clarify . . .
The wise Latina failed to even notice that the 8th Amendment ban is on “cruel and unusual” punishment, not on punishments that include incidental pain. If the state’s goal is as painless a death for these evil thugs as possible, the fact that the death is not always completely painless is not a constitutional issue. The Supremes did the right thing allowing these executions to go forward. America is a little better with those rapist/murderers gone, but there are 2902 more killers left on death row to go.

The token Latina failed nothing. She, and the other Socialists on the dais, don’t care about Constitution. EVERY ‘case law’ and ‘precedent’ have superseded that old, dusty rag.
I’d love to hear these blabbermouths should any State put into law any method used for abortions will be employed for death row terminations; and another RE: pet euthanasia. Good enough for those...

Anyone, in the last two plus decades, who has had a GI procto scope procedure, cataract surgery or basically any in/out same day surgery/procedure has received Midazolam, aka Versed.
Midazolam/Versed, when administered by an anesthesiologist or ER Doc is safe, does not cause severe pain, and enables you to relax and not remember the medical procedure.
