What happens if there’s a power failure? Then you have no money. The “cashless” society is not ready for prime time.

....”What happens if there’s a power failure? Then you have no money”....

You don’t even need that to have them take control of your money.. Heck I had to change my bank card over to a chipped card. So I did it right there at the bank...asked if it needed any time to kick in and he said no..you can use it right away, if it won’t work with the chip just have them slide it.

Well with almost $200. worth of groceries fully run through the checkout....I got 3 declines....so I went to the ATM and that too was declined. Called the bank (now after hours) and was told there is a 24 hour hold on your money! and there was nothing they could do.

Thank God my son was with me and paid for the groceries for me...but I was beyond livid!

I agree. But, in truth, in any power failure that lasts awhile (EMP), cash itself becomes valueless. Read The Next Second After or watch the movie The Road. In that movie, the man and the boy walk over cash bills, indicating no value.
