Republican leadership is looking to fund Planned Parenthood in their latest spending bill but not the Trump border wall.
Could these lawmakers be any more out of touch with their base? CNS News reported:

…Congress faces an April 28 deadline to pass a new government funding bill.
There is currently no talk that it will include language to prohibit funding of Planned Parenthood.
But there is talk that it will not include the language that President Trump has requested to provide $1.4 billion to begin his project to build “a great, great wall on our southern border.”
The Republican House can pass and send to the Republican Senate a bill that funds the border wall but not Planned Parenthood. Or they can pass one that funds Planned Parenthood but not the border wall.
The former course of action would fulfill the campaign promises that got their president elected. The latter would appease congressional Democrats and the liberal press.
So, which will it be?

While I have no doubt that politicized, Obama-appointed federal judges would overreach and pretend the act applies, President Trump might be able to avoid that interference by not having the military directly intervene. If they vector Border Patrol to an intercept, rather than actually detaining these criminals, federal judges may not have anything they can do. I hope Trump's advisors will consider it. We need to control the border. We also need to put an end to judicial meddling in executive decisions that are clearly within the scope of Executive Power. How many illegals would cross if they could see the Unites States Marines or the 82nd/101st Airborne exercising just this side of the border?

It’s a CR. Not a budget. A CR continues funding as it currently is.
A budget injects new priorities.
There is no Wall in current funding, so you would not expect it in a CR. There probably is PP funding in the current funding so you would expect it in a CR.
The NEW budget is what has to get votes for priorities. The CR can get Dem votes. The NEW budget has to pass only internal GOP negotiations. THAT is where you judge what they are doing.
Again, Ryan is being blamed for legislating government function. It has nothing to do with priorities.

Too many people are losing sight of the fact that Trump did not win based on whether or not Congress provides funding for the Wall. He already has a decent plan that will pay for it. It’s called Mexico. And Cruz has added an extra ingredient. The El Chapo plan.
So why is Congressional funding issue this being made a dominant news item?

Exactly. We (in the DoD) have been dealing with this CR crap for years. Each year the CR's come later and later...and the appropriations bills come later and later (if at all). It is very frustrating that even though the cost of doing business has increased over the last 15 years...by budget has not.
CR's are just extensions. The real battle for the wall...for PP...Obamacare...is not now...it's in the summer and fall for the FY18 budget.
And I fear I know how it will end...
