expresses a particular desire for “students from a range of backgrounds whose varied perspectives will contribute to the course.” How does a "range of backgrounds" contribute to the course. Did I miss something ? I didn't know there was a White geology, a Black geology, or an Hispanic geology. I guess earthquakes in Southern California decide whether or not an area is diverse enough before they hit that area.
