That was NBC back in 1980. I remember watching the game. Maybe ESPN did it too.

Anyway, ESPN's revenue problems are because people are cutting the cable TV cord in favor of streaming services like Hulu and Netflix. I don't think anything can stop that trend, it's the future of how people are going to watch TV. If ESPN was smart they would start their own streaming service devoted to sports. And drop the political commentary. People don't watch sports for politics.

I look for Disney to spin off ESPN as a separate company sometime in the near future.
