(CNN) Fights over money to pay for a border wall -- as well as Obamacare subsidies and an infusion of resources for the military -- are threatening to trip up congressional talks over a funding bill to head off a government shutdown Friday.

But Democrats are warning that the White House, which stayed out of the fray during much of these talks, is ratcheting up demands, insisting on including border wall money in exchange for continuing to pay insurance companies subsidies to bolster the Obamacare marketplace, which they say is a nonstarter. President Donald Trump highlighted the issue over the weekend and on Monday.
"The Wall is a very important tool in stopping drugs from pouring into our country and poisoning our youth (and many others)!" Trump tweeted.
But White House officials said late Sunday that they did not want the government to shut down over any impasse in the spending talks -- and that's a directive straight from the President.
Top administration officials explained to the President this weekend that the most likely scenario is a stopgap bill that would last a week or so until a deal is reached. "There's no interest in a shutdown," an official says, adding they will "do what it takes" to avoid one.
Aides for the top Republicans and Democrats on the appropriations committees say they are making progress under the deadline pressure. But they also concede that significant sticking points remain and Congress, which is returning from a two-week recess, will have just a few days to get a bill to the President's desk.
Multiple aides tell CNN that Congress may need to pass a stopgap measure -- potentially for a week or more -- to give them time to reach a final deal.

Lets Hope so! A ‘Government shutdown’ simply means the government runs on revenue which means Donald Trump gets to pick the 30% of government to defend and shut down.
Donald Trump already wants to get rid of way more than that!
Im thinking we could do without a whole lot of leftist agencies from EPA, BLM, most of IRS, all of ATF, FDA, and a whole host of other agencies to save money for priories like Border patrol and military defense.
The RINO’s and Democrats will have to negotiate if they ever want these left-wing agencies tyrannizing the people again.
Trump will be able to demand a very high legislative price, or eventually most of their employees will quit. Then if they ever do reopen trump gets to stack them with conservatives who don’t want them to work, and yet can’t be fired.
This is the perfect situation for Donald Trump, it lets him do what he wants and demand what he needs in negotiation with congress.
Trump should MAKE SURE Government shuts down and stays shut dowe until the democrats sequel and compromise.
Otherwise we get 4 years of freedom, and maybe then the American people will realist how little they need these hugely expensive agencies.
The wall has been authorized for years.
Money is fungible.
Obama shifted funds in a manner not allowed by law.
Donald will learn how.

The wall must happen or most of us supporters are gone the wall is so important and not negotiable. If President Trump reneges on this I will no longer support him and work for his defeat. He will have left the reservation. It’s one of the major reasons he is president and has the silent majority
Trumps going to get the best deal no matter what it looks like in the press propaganda.....the wall will go up...but it needs to be done in the right way...and he needs to be given the room to make it happen. The contractors have submitted their bids....now it’s about paying for it to go up....negotiations move back and forth and will do so on this as well.

Because the budget is passed under special rules called reconciliation and under reconciliation rules, no filibuster is allowed...it is a majority vote.
But they have a majority. They just don’t have the 60 votes. Obamacare was passed through reconciliation.

I would change the education information.
Joe now has to pay for parochial schooling for his children because the public school has been taken over by the children of illegal aliens, and it’s not safe for them there any longer.
Joe - another $3,000 a year per child.
Jose - free ride of course
When they were still going there, they would sit and read while their teacher taught the other children English.
At recess time the Jose’s kids would harass and pick fights with Joe’s kids.
