Recurring nightmare: out of ammunition in the face of the enemy.
Can’t think about that if you are in that situation. Whatever ammo you’ve got will have to do. Aim well, don’t waste ammo just making noise. Give priority to the armed ones, maybe they’ll drop something you can use.
I have been in firefights and when I was new guy, ran out of ammo in one. I had rabbited off several magazines towards the enemy and wasted a lot of rounds making noise.
I was lucky and never did that again. I learned to calm down and aim.
