WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump could avert the risk of a government shutdown next weekend by stepping back from his demand that lawmakers fund his promised border wall with Mexico in a must-pass spending bill, Congress’ two top Democrats said Monday.
“If the president stepped out of it, we could get a budget done by Friday,” Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., said Monday in a conference call with reporters, referring to Democratic and Republican budget negotiators.
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., agreed. She said that while Trump had promised during his campaign to build the barrier, “He did not promise that he would take food out of the mouths of babies” and cut programs for seniors, education and the environment to pay for it. She called the wall an “immoral, ineffective, unwise proposal.”

Well, given that sizeable number of Republicans do not support the building of the wall, You know the rest.

That’s the dirty little secret.
Shutdown ALL non-essential government activities for the next four years, as far as I’m concerned. That is even a better deal than Trump was looking for.
In other words Trump will be fine if he commits political Hara-Kari.
Israel already proved that a border wall works. When was the last time they were hit with a terrorist attack?
These same democrats voted for a border fence a few years ago. This is a losing battle for them.
First, if Trump backed down, he would lose 75% of his support over night.
Second, if Trump stands firm, and the Dems shut down the Federal Government, Trumps support will go up.
Easy decision.
Around 35% of illegal aliens that are here are visa overstays.
They all need to go, DACA recipients included.
Another example of the MSM and the DemonRats teaming up to bend a Republican President to their will. It is not so much about the wall because for them as showing Trump who is boss.
They shut down the country. Or they leave the borders open. Both actions hurt America. And that’s their goal. They win either way.
Trump would be a fool to give up this leverage, and to pass on the chance to make the Dims eat sh!t.

IIRC, the Wall was voted for & Funding for the Wall was voted for in 2006——
Now, 11 years later, the Dems act like that vote never happened.
It must be somewhere in the Congressional Records.
Trump needs to find the exact wording & apply it NOW-—.

Personally, I think they are bluffing and Schumer cannot hold his coalition together with 20+ of them up for election in 2018.
