Happened last August. Video just released.
Husband says he was not allowed to ride in ambulance with his wife, then directed to wrong hospital. The 73 year-old librarian died in the ambulance according to WINK.
This happened in Punta Gorda, FL.
Why was he pointing [aiming] a loaded pistol at an individual, even if it was a “training “exercise? I know better than to do something like that.
Well if you’re going to use live people for trainng you may as well use live ammo.

Range officer, Firearms instructor, and all their higher brass will have their nuts in the corn sheller.

The infuriating thing is the husband not only was not allowed in the ambulance but was directed to the wrong hospital.
The need to fire everyone involved in the program, from the city manager through the police brass on down to the secretaries. Investigate for criminal prosecution, but don’t bother for the employment issues. Fire them all and clean house.
That would be a pleasant surprise. More likely they'll pick a mid-level scapegoat.

During my years as a target shooter I saw a huge quantity of lousy police firearm control.
If the average person knew how badly the police handle weapons they would be terrified.

The cop and the police chief have been charged with manslaughter.
The officer NEEDS to go to jail.

But the officer is in the wrong line of work and needs to be incarcerated.
According to the video, it was outside the police station where the “training” was being given.
