My sister did as well. Does folic acid help with neurological issues?

My sister said the type she had wasn’t genetic. I didn’t even know it could be. She was, ironically, a neurologist, so she would know. What’s saddest is that her case progressed exceptionally fast. She didn’t have the blessing of ‘ignorance is bliss’.

Lou Gehrig's disease damages motor neurons in the brain and spinal cord. Motor neurons are nerve cells that control muscle movement. Upper motor neurons send messages from the brain to the spinal cord, and lower motor neurons send messages from the spinal cord to the muscles. Motor neurons are an important part of the body's neuromuscular system.

Mother started out saying her tongue felt strange. Mother's started up high and not at the foot and leg as most Lou Gehrig's start.
