This week we learned that the ever “media friendly” smiling publicity hound of the House of Representatives, Republican Rep. Jason Chaffetz of Utah, would not run again for his seat next year. Ironically, as Chaffetz announced that he would step down from his seemingly powerful role as chairman of the House Oversight and Reform Committee – a body that is the investigative “scandal arm” of the House – it was revealed by Circa News that an investigation he had conducted over the tragic shoot down of Extortion 17 was part of an elaborate government cover-up, itself criminal in nature. Had Chaffetz remained as chairman, ironically, his own committee would have had to investigate and likely take action against him. Let me explain.
Extortion 17 was a hastily arranged mission in Afghanistan in 2011 whereby 30 American servicemen, 22 of them special ops, were sent into battle allegedly to kill terrorists and then shot down by the Taliban, with the financial and other assistance of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the complicity of then Afghan President Hamid Karzai, one of the most corrupt politicians in world history. Here is the video of a presser we held on May 9, 2013 explaining this tragedy. This occurred just three months after Osama bin Laden was allegedly killed. (A picture of bin Laden’s body has never been disclosed publicly. Some have speculated that he died before of natural causes and that President Obama claimed credit to further his 2012 election effort.) Several brave heroes died tragically on that fateful day, Aug. 6, 2011.

I will say I think there is more to the story. What it is, I have no idea.
Still is speculation. From the article, it said they couldn’t find the black box. I thought that military aircraft don’t have black boxes because of secrecy.

naw that was just a story they came up with to explaining why no black box ever turned up on ron brown’s last flight.
I believe that and also I think Hillary is threatening him because of the power he holds in the two committees he has, or he could be tied up in the D.C. Peddy ring...it could be something bad, you just don't walk away from one of the most powerful committees because you want to run for Gov of Utah??? We might have been born at night, but not last night...
How can the military cremate your loved one’s body without your permission? How can they bypass whatever official records say, and dispose of your body the way they want to? I pray for the safety of Pilot/Targeter Joni Marquez, and that the truth of this scandal is uncovered, and those involved punished, specifically Leon Panetta. He’s got a lot of nerve giving President Trump advice. It looks like somebody gave Chaffetz the easy way out. Karzai should be shot. Thank God for Larry Klayman.

I knew there had to be something BIG for Chaffetz to just quit like that.
I would never have guessed it would be over the Extortion 17 debacle that I only just heard about from the whistle blower.

I heard on Hannity yesterday that he may be in line for a show on Fox.
Some recent threads have hinted that Chaffetz might step down soon, resulting in a special election.
He sure seems in a hurry to get out of DC. Wonder who has the pix and what do they show?

Recently, two investigators working for Trey Gowdy went missing in Little Rock as they were preparing to search around the Clinton Library for a Clinton connection to sex-trafficking. Their car was found at a park. Empty.
There is probably way more to Chaffetz's step-down than we will probably ever be able to know.
No one can make more money than a federal legislator of either house or senate can steal.
Navy Seal Aaron Vaughn’s parents,particularly his mom, have been on this story for years. They’re not buying the government’s story. The mom,Karen, is extremely well spoken and I don’t think she’ll rest until this story has an ending that satisfies her and her husband.
I pray she is successful in getting to the truth.

The reading I got was that he wants to be out of DC ASAP so he can put some distance between himself and running for Governor in 2020.
Makes sense.
Still, this doesn’t make him look good. At a time when we need leadership, he’s running away from his responsibilities in order to seek a “cushier” job as Utah Governor (which is generally a dead-end job aside from perhaps getting an occasional Cabinet post (George Dern, Mike Leavitt) or serving as Ambassador for the opposition party (Huntsman). No UT Governor has ever served as Senator). That sort of cowardice should not be rewarded, and should be a key argument to defeat him for the nomination in 3 years.
