Then there is this “art of the deal”.....Trump can just tell them that NONE, meaning ZERO of any legislation those “obstructionists” send to him for approval will NOT be signed. Time to start playing hardball with those people, they are on his side or are considered the enemy.
I agree - the Dems think they have leverage over Trump, since they have a bunch of GOPe’s in the House and Trump needs 60 votes in the Senate.
But here’s the rub - they will not get anywhere unless they can get 67 Senate votes and 290 House votes (i.e., override Trump’s budget vetoes) - and good luck rounding up the 100 or so House members needed for that - as EACH ONE will likely be primaried if they side with the Democrats on something this important. Similarly for Senate.
In other words, Trump is now the man with THE PEN AND THE PHONE and he’s sounding a lot like he’s ready to use that leverage.
