Hypocrisy in the Anti-O'Reilly Army
Patriot Post ^ | April 21, 2017 | L. Brent Bozell & Tim Graham

Posted on 04/22/2017 7:39:17 AM PDT by yoe

Fox News took Bill O'Reilly off the air after a heavy campaign to fire him led by CNN’s media unit and The New York Times. If all the charges of sexual harassment are true, his case is indefensible. That said, it’s time for his media critics to stand down. They are guilty of rank hypocrisy.

[snip]On April 2, 2017, the Times published a 3,148-word front-page article lamenting “O'Reilly Thrives as Settlements Add Up.” Reporters Emily Steel and Michael Schmidt declared that their investigation found five women who received payouts from either O'Reilly or Fox “in exchange for agreeing to not pursue litigation or speak about their accusations against him. The agreements totaled about $13 million.”

Write down or file those names for future reference, Michael Schmidt and Emily Steel....they are guilty of yellow journalism.

I make no excuses.

I hate Bill O’Reilly’s guts for waving blank pages of paper around and calling FreeRepublic a hate sight on air.

Period. He is a worthless piece of American trash. Good riddance.

Fox... I have a question concerning Fox network. Not to defend O’Reilly... but to ask the bosses at Fox to please explain and also ask.. “are you really that dumb”...

I wanted to ask this before... and this subject gives me the opportunity.

Who set the dress code for the ladies, to wear their dress/skirts way above their knees? Who wants the world to see their legs? They do not put a table, or anything in front of them... it’s all legs all the time. They have to learn how to sit.. and working out at the gym helps the look.. along with tanning. Never has so much been put into the lower part of the body... for an hour’s show.

The main question is: With all the bare flesh there in the work place, does it make any difference to the men who work along beside them? Crying wolf when the wolf was invited?

In my day, that would have been a problem. Have men changed in the years since I was young... to not be aware of the bare flesh? Sometimes I want them to just dress like normal... and stop the OBVIOUS showing of the legs! Is it supposed to bring men viewers to their programs? Does it?

Had to laugh at the radio morning drive time idiots yesterday. The were all in favor of BOR leaving, he was racist and sexist for (allegedly) calling someone "hot chocolate" off the air.

Less than five minutes later they called Sarah Palin an "evil witch" and talked about her "fat ass" ON THE AIR.

I'm sure if someone called them on this hypocrisy, they'd talk about freedom of the press, and free speech and how it was all joke and all.

BOR aka Ted Baxter off the air is a small loss. We quit watching him over a year ago.

Guys like BOR always do themselves in eventually. Whit his fame and money he could have had any number of women who would have kept quiet. Yet big shots always have to go for what they can not have. No sympathy for him. As for Fox, they seem to be racing towards becoming another big lib media. No sympathy for them either.

Don't forget along with the skirts way above the knee, some times cleavage takes center stage. The spaghetti tube dresses and the long limp hair pulled to the front, all are an affront to me. Does anyone take their views seriously...they dress like hookers, not news reporters.

I agree, however I don’t remember quite the outrage when Letterman was banging subordinates in the studio during work hours.

Maybe I missed it.

Yep! Hookers and then sue... but it’s the boss who has set the dress code and it’s the boss who has “settled out of court” with millions. Has sanity left Fox!

I agree with you. Bill O'Reilly misrepresented FR blatantly and did not let FR have any defense. He did this trying to straddle the middle and appease the lefties. He is getting his just desserts. I have no sympathy or good wishes for him or his future.

Sarah is indeed pleasant to look at, although I admit I'm not sure what "phat" means.

And now you and I are both sexist misogynists.

To put it rather bluntly, the specimens Fox has been offering up are too old to attract male viewers solely through using such displays. If they had a team of 21-year-old newsreaders in short skirts who had been trained to giggle fetchingly between stories, that might actually work. But their current cast look and sound too much like a group of angry, 40-year-old, ex-girlfriend lawyers to pull that tactic off. :)

It has been obvious to me for a while that Fox News exists to placate conservative viewers and convince them they have a voice, while acting a a conduit for the same globalist propaganda that is disseminated through all of the other networks. Who reads the talking points - legs or not - is pretty much irrelevant. Carlson and Hannity are pretty good, but they pull their punches at odd times, probably as instructed.

Have cut down on FOX and never watch CNN, ABC,CBS. I get the information I need from OAN (One America News). Not crazy about all the young females - they talk too quickly;) but one thing is driving me NUTS.

Someone please identify the veteran announcer who narrates the ‘history items’ during breaks. Is it Charles Osgood??? Not found on internet searches.

Thanks

Question

1.
How many women have filed law suits against you for sexual reasons? (that you weren’t guilty of, divorce proceedings don’t count)

2.
How many women has your employer paid off?

Almost NONE of you!
(Bill O’Reilly and Bill Clinton need not respond)

I don’t “know” if the allegations are true, but I think they are. Too much smoke.

Can I see Bill O’Reilly masturbating, while talking on the phone with women?

BLEACH!, BLEACH!

There is a difference between respecting a man as a honest journalist and recognizing when he has been unfairly treated.

Bill Clinton didn’t lose his job for proof of far greater crimes why should Bill O’Reilly for mere accusations?
