Top U.S. officials to provide N. Korea briefing to all 100 senators
WASHINGTON, April 21 (Yonhap) -- U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, Defense Secretary Jim Mattis and other top officials will provide a briefing on North Korea to all 100 senators at the White House next week, a news report said Friday.
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Joe Dunford and Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats will join Tillerson and Mattis in the briefing set for Wednesday, Politico reported, in a notice sent to Capitol Hill.
The briefing had been originally scheduled to take place at the Senate, but the location has since been rescheduled to the White House, the report said. No congressional staffers will be allowed in the briefing, it said.
The briefing appears to show the seriousness the Trump administration views the North Korea issue.
Tensions on the Korean Peninsula have sharply spiked in recent weeks as Washington and Pyongyang have rattled their sabers against each other, with the U.S. announcing it would send a massive aircraft carrier strike group to waters off the Korean Peninsula and the North responding with a missile launch attempt, even though it ended in failure.
The two sides have also engaged in a war of words, with American officials repeatedly saying that all options are on the table in an apparent reference to military strikes, and North Korean officials also churning out highly belligerent rhetoric.

This is a rather interesting move. Are Senators invited to watch a movie with popcorn in hand?:-)

“That will be ONE CROWDED Scif.”
Casting your pearls before the swine. This is one dumb idea. I can’t think of a less qualified bunch to represent the citizens of this country.

Yes, Dr. Strangelove, or how I learned to stop worrying and love the bomb. I hope we can close the bunker gap. 10 to 1?
In all seriousness the Senate needs to be full informed and I hope whatever decision is reached its a super majority.

LOL. It was a strategic move. Of course it will leak. That was the point. Trump plays whack a mole with 2 hands’, elbows and his thing out on one leg using his other foot as another weapon. The man is like a one man Ninja Aegis Cruiser. 3D chess with a 4D dimension per issue.

This looks like a setup for some dramatic political move, a kind of which WH wants full Senate backing on. Since WH has used other dramatic actions to convey its message short of direct immediate military action, this could be another way of declaring its serious intent, which also clears the way for potential full military action if everything else fails. Something along the line of defacto declaration of war.
If they are going to invite all Senators, it had better be good, not an anti-climatic photo op.

That’s a very good, if rather prosaic description of Trump in action. Perhaps you could loosen up a bit — use some imagery, trow in a bit of hyperbole, be a bit more poetic?

Russia: North Korea border troop movements 'our business'
21/04/2017
Russia is denying reports that it has been moving troops to the border with North Korea amid heightened regional tension, despite contradictory accounts from local witnesses.
Pictures which appeared on social media this week purport to show Russian military vehicles and helicopters near Vladivostock in the Primorsky region.
Uneasy US-North Korea stalemate is over. Time for Trump to act.
The United States can no longer tolerate the aggressive and irrational behavior of the North Korean regime. A once manageable threat is now destabilizing an entire region. The time for half measures is over. The time for action has arrived.

In a very Coulteresque voice, "Why thank you." I will do my best not to disappoint. I do have a question... what exactly does TROW have to do with this?
