Now there are 2 sides who are committed to diametrically opposed, mutually exclusive world views.
There have always been riots and protests but they revolved around specific events or issues. Now one side says the other has no right to exist.
In the past we disagreed with each other.
Now we frickin’ despise each other.
The pendulum swings back and forth; it always has done. Yet, just when one thinks things can't sink any lower, these days, somehow it manages to do so.

Yep. One side is populated by patriotic Americans who love their country and who generally affirm the values clearly defined in the Constitution. The other side is populated by ANTI-Americans who despise their country and generally affirm the values of all leftists, i.e., those clearly defined by the basic tenants of Socialism, its ugly sister, Communism, and of course, Fascism.
I hate to say it took my 50 years to discover Thomas Sowell.
He called all of this. He’s published dozens of books, but there are a couple that are short reads and will change the way conservatives look at everything.
Race and Economics is a big one, and then there is Wealth, Poverty, and Politics.
Here’s the bottom line:
It’s about culture.
Take Japanese and Mexicans in the US from 1880 to 1980. The Japanese were interred, and most of their capital assets taken from them. Mexicans were left, basically, to their own devices by comparison.
The Japanese, per capita, in the US is among the wealthiest ethnic group in the United States.
The difference is culture. Avg. Mexican female has children at age 18. Contrast that to age 26 for Japanese.
All of this is a battle over culture, not politics.
Which takes us to Allahu Akbar. Most mistranslated phrase in the media.
It doesn’t mean “God is great”. It means, “Our god is greater than your God”, as in the Christian God, Vishnu, whatever.
Our culture is greater than your culture.
As such, there may be prejudice in the US, genuine racism. However, there is also quite a bit of legitimate push back and even hostility toward the cultures of various ‘minority’ groups.
I don’t get down with the idea of impregnating as many women as I want and walk away from the responsibility of raising their children. That is a black thing, and they have to own it.
Killing people who don’t subscribe to your religious beliefs is something I’m not down with. Neither is lopping off the clitori of their women. It’s a legitimate beef I have with their culture.
American works, or worked, because you left that crap behind and got down with the culture created here in the US, which was hard work wins.
These two books put a completely new light on race, prejudice, and how the right should be addressing this in the media. If we can all agree genital mutilation and illegitimacy are generally bad for everyone, there is progress to be made.
