Yep. LBGT and climate change are both nothing more than opinions. Schools should be in the business of teaching established facts, not opinions.
I don’t want see any teacher to arguing for LBGT rights. And for that matter, I don’t want see any teacher arguing against LBGT rights. Stick to teaching 1+1=2 and E=mc2.
In the absence of a comprehensive body of knowledge uniformly agreed upon across the country, there should not be “public schools.” Let us as a society face the consequences of our lacking epistemic unity.
